An update to the Windows 10 Photos app makes it easier to manage OneDrive images

What you need to know

  • The Windows 10 Photos app now has a OneDrive icon that takes you straight to the OneDrive integration settings.
  • This new icon allows you to manage what items are displayed in your Photos app quickly.
  • It also displays how much of your OneDrive storage is full.

The Windows 10 Photos app has a new option that makes it easier to manage the app's integration with OneDrive (via WindowsUnited). The app now shows an icon that takes you directly to the settings related to OneDrive. You can still access the same settings through the Settings section of the app, but the new icon makes it a bit easier and allows you to access them faster.

The Windows 10 Photos app can display contents from your OneDrive. You can select which folders you'd like displayed within the app. For example, you could select to show a folder full of photos from your smartphone but not display a folder full of saved screenshots. The same section also displays how much of your OneDrive storage is full.

The new icon does not appear on our version of the Windows 10 Photos app, so there's a chance this is a limited rollout or that it's restricted to people in certain Insider rings.
