Republished Employment Equity Regulations, 2024 On Thursday, 01 February 2014 the Department of Employment and Labour published a revised draft of the Employment Equity Regulations containing the much-publicised Sectoral Targets. The revised Regulations provide greater clarity on key aspects of the implementation of an Employment Equity Plan, which will now have to be a 5-year plan, and the setting of year-on-year numerical targets which ultimately leads to the achievement of the prescribed Sectoral Target in year 5. Key aspects of the settlement agreement reached with Solidarity have been incorporated in the revised draft of the EE Regulations and clarity has been given around the use of the National vs. Provincial EAP.
