6 Reasons Why Social Justice Matters in South Africa. Social justice is at the heart of Black Sash’s mission. Here’s why it matters now more than ever: 1️⃣ Protecting Social Grants – Millions rely on grants for survival. We fight to ensure they are safeguarded. 2️⃣ Ending Poverty – Fair policies and economic justice can break the cycle of poverty. 3️⃣ Defending Human Rights – Everyone deserves dignity, equality, and access to basic needs. 4️⃣ Holding Government Accountable – Transparency and responsible leadership benefit us all. 5️⃣ Ensuring Fair Access to Services – No one should be denied healthcare, education, or social protection. 6️⃣ Empowering Communities – Knowledge is power. We equip people with the tools to claim their rights.
