🌌✨ Witness the Planetary Parade on February 28th! ✨🌌 On the night of February 28, 2025, skywatchers will be treated to a breathtaking and very rare, celestial event—a planetary alignment featuring Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn all visible in the sky at the same time! 🔭 What’s happening? A planetary alignment occurs when several planets appear in a line from our perspective on Earth. While they won’t be perfectly aligned in space, they will be visible in the same general region of the sky—making for an awe-inspiring sight! ⏰ When & Where to Watch: 🌍 Best viewed just before sunset 🔭 Look towards the eastern horizon ☁️ Clear skies will offer the best view—so check your local weather forecast! 💡 Fun Fact: These alignments happen occasionally, but catching multiple planets in the sky at once is always a special treat. Cosmic Crane Watch—South African Night-Sky Highlights This Week (Feb 6 - Feb 9) The moon is poised to be the star of the sky in the coming days, illuminating our nights with stunning encounters alongside the Pleiades star cluster, Jupiter, and Mars. From the 6th, watch as the Moon gracefully approaches the Pleiades, creating a breathtaking scene as it eclipses the cluster and draws closer to one of the giants above. This celestial dance offers a mesmerising display in the night sky. In addition, the Moon will shine brightly near Jupiter, allowing us to witness both wonders in the evening. Venus will steal our hearts after sunset, shining at its brightest, perfectly in tune with the spirit of love that February brings. Meanwhile, Mars will hold its position, aligning with Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn as they perform their captivating planetary parade that has been enchanting us since January. Beyond BlueCraneSpace, Benedict served as Vice-Chairperson of University of Pretoria Aerospace Society and National Point of Contact for the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC)—roles that reflect his unwavering commitment to space exploration and STEM advocacy. 🚀✨ With a Physics background and an unshakable passion for innovation, he also founded Benefaction Manifold, a company dedicated to advancing space and natural sciences.
