Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time. It is also where we at Danfoss engineer the solutions needed to support the decarbonization of the industries we serve. By decarbonizing our own global operations and addressing key phases in our sustainability journey, we apply the same approach that we offer our customers. We call it: Reduce, Reuse, Re-source: ✅ First, we apply energy-efficient solutions to reduce energy consumption and increase machine productivity. ✅ Second, we reuse energy through energy recovery and sector coupling. ✅ Third, we source any remaining demand from clean energy sources such as renewable electricity and green hydrogen. Only in this sequence can we achieve rapid and cost-efficient decarbonization. And the best thing is that most of the solutions already exist today. The global construction industry faces a dual challenge: meeting the demand for new infrastructure while drastically reducing its environmental impact. With 230 billion square meters of new construction projected over the next 40 years, the need for sustainable solutions is more critical than ever. Heavy-duty machinery, a cornerstone of construction, consumes vast amounts of fossil fuels, resulting in substantial greenhouse gas emissions. However, readily available energy efficiency solutions offer a pathway to immediate emissions reductions in both diesel and hybrid machines, and enhance the business case for electric drivetrains, paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable construction sector. By decarbonizing our own global operations, we apply the same approach we offer our customers. We call it Reduce, Reuse, and Re-source, and we’re using it to achieve our own carbon-neutrality goals by 2030 across 100+ operations. ✅ First, we apply energy-efficient solutions to reduce energy consumption and increase machine productivity ✅ Second, we reuse energy through energy recovery and sector coupling ✅ Third, we source any remaining demand from clean energy sources such as renewable electricity and green hydrogen. To see more examples of how this is applied in emissions-heavy sectors like industry, transport, buildings, and energy systems, sign up for our “Decarbonization Explained” newsletter: https://bit.ly/45wgxlw #DecarbonizationExplained #Decarbonization #ESG #Energyefficiency #Greentransition #Climatechange #Sustainability #DecarbIndustries #DecarbTransport #DecarbBuildings #DecarbEnergysystems #Energymix

By 2050, feeding 10 billion people sustainably will be critical. Yet, supermarkets – responsible for 3% of total electricity use in industrialized countries – are often overlooked in the race to net-zero. The good news? Energy-efficient heating and cooling can drastically slash supermarket emissions and costs. Our Smart Store supermarket in Nordborg, Denmark showcases how to build and operate a climate-friendly supermarket with solutions that are already available, scalable, and deliver ROI in typically less than 3 years: ✅ Runs off sustainable energy sources ✅ Reuses the excess heat created by cooling cases, reducing supermarket heating costs by up to 90% Learn more: https://bit.ly/4b4Ixiz #WhyEE #EnergyEfficiency #SmartStore #NetZero #GreenTransition

Our world uses more energy than it needs to. In buildings where we live and work, stores we shop in, industries that supply our goods, our transportation, and construction machines we use to build them all. Energy efficiency is the key to driving forward an ambitious and cost-efficient green transition. Energy-efficient technologies and solutions are already available; we just need to be strategic about how, when, and where we use them. ✓ Electrification can significantly reduce overall global energy consumption ✓ Sector integration and heat recovery technologies maximize energy use and lower demand on energy production and reduce energy loss ✓ Energy storage and digitalization streamline costs by using energy at the right time – tapping into the potential of demand-side flexibility Energy efficiency is the quickest, most affordable way to decarbonize while ensuring reliable and sustainable energy for everyone. And Danfoss has the solutions and expertise to accelerate the green transition today.
