Does the process of egg donation hurt? Eggs are not “cut out” during the process of donation, as some might believe. The process is actually minimally invasive, and any mild pain that could potentially arise is very well managed by our specialist team. We will do everything in our power to make sure that your comfort and well-being are put first. Some people experience PMS symptoms but really nothing more than what some women experience each month. These may include moodiness, tender breasts, feeling bloated or mild headaches but may already be symptoms you are very familiar with as part of your monthly menstruation. You won’t have to take time away from work or change your lifestyle and can continue as normal whilst you donate. Any small adjustments to your routine or possible side-effects of the process will be discussed with you in detail before any of the procedures are undertaken and you are always free to ask questions at any point. What other questions do you have with regard to egg donation or fertility? #mildpain #eggdonorjourney #eggdonorlife

💫 Here's a glimpse into the egg retrieval process! Egg retrieval, also known as oocyte retrieval, is performed under sedation so you are fast asleep to ensure that the donor is as comfortable as possible.😊💙 A thin needle is guided through the vaginal wall and into the ovaries using a transvaginal ultrasound probe. The needle is then used to aspirate the follicles containing the eggs, detaching them from the follicle wall. These precious eggs are then suctioned out along with fluid released from the follicles. The entire process typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete, and most donors return to work the very next day 👩⚕️🌞 Let us know if you have any questions regarding egg donation! Our caring team will be delighted to address your concerns and guide you through the retrieval phase. 🌟❤️ #eggretrieval #eggdonation #makingadifference #caring

You might not ever have even considered the idea of donating your eggs; but if you’re between the ages of 19-29 and fit several of our other criteria, you could be a good candidate. Egg donation is the process by which a woman donates her eggs (those that have matured that month) to enable another woman to conceive through the process of IVF at a fertility clinic. This does not remove future stocks of eggs from a donor, only those that are already “developed” and essentially going to waste if the donor is not looking to have a baby just yet. Most people donate their eggs as an act of generosity, to help another family have a baby, but it’s something to note that as an egg donor, you will be compensated R8 000 for your time and effort each time you donate, which can be up to six times. This month we are talking all about egg donation – what criteria our donors need to match, how the process of donating eggs works, and so much more. Stay tuned to our platform to get all the deets and feel free to reach out to our team should you be interested in becoming a donor. #eggdonor #ivf #eggdonation #surrogacy #fertility #fertilityjourney #infertilityawareness

ANATOMY OF AN EGG How much do we really know about the details of our reproductive cycles? What really is the difference between an ova or an oocyte, and what are they made up of? The ovaries produce the egg cells, called the ova or oocytes. The ovum itself has a central nucleus that contains the female's genetic material; this, with the genetic material in the sperm cell, determines the inherited characteristics of the child. This is where it all starts. Surrounding the nucleus is a cell plasma, or yolk, that contains nutritional elements essential to the developing egg cell, a tiny feeding system essential to its survival. The formation of egg cells, or ova, is technically called oogenesis The oocytes are then transported to the fallopian tube where fertilization by a sperm may occur. If an egg does not become fertilized within 24 hours of its eruption, it begins to degenerate. In a nutshell, that is the structure of a female egg. #egg #anatomyofanegg #eggdonation #reproductivesystem #learn #hartfertility #fertility

In the case of male infertility, when conventional infertility treatments fail or are unavailable, assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs) offer alternatives for achieving pregnancy without intercourse. These methods, recommended based on the specific infertility type and cause, include: 1. Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): Sperm is placed directly into the uterus via a tube, beneficial for various fertility issues like low sperm count, retrograde ejaculation, and more. 2. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): Eggs are fertilized with sperm in a laboratory dish after ovarian stimulation. IVF is versatile, addressing hormone imbalances, blocked tubes, idiopathic infertility, and severe oligospermia. 3. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): A single sperm is injected into an egg, aiding severe male infertility cases or when no sperm is present in semen due to blockages or testicular failure. 4. Sperm Retrieval for ART: Microsurgical techniques extract sperm from obstructed areas, aiming for optimal quality and quantity without harming reproductive organs. #testandtubules #ART #methods #maleinfertility #fertilityjourney #testicles #HART #education
