Today, the families of Frik and Peter attended a session in the South African Parliament, urging the International Relations Committee to prioritise efforts for the men’s release. The Democratic Alliance tabled a request for a formal hearing with the families this term. Frik’s youngest grandchild misses her grandfather immensely. Sonja, his wife, shares: "Our little one had her first school day without her grandfather. Doesn't understand why he's not on our video calls anymore. But she knows grandpa works on the boat. Now there's another little one on the way, and he doesn't even know about it." Frik and Peter were arrested on fabricated drug trafficking charges, despite no credible evidence, witnesses, or expert testimonies being presented against them.
