Non-profit Organizations

Improving the quality of life of people living with HIV, in all our diversity.

About us

GNP+ originates in the International Steering Committee of the International Conferences of People Living with HIV, founded in 1986. The Steering Committee organised conferences so people living with HIV could exchange information, develop joined activism and be involved in solving the HIV epidemic. When we started to develop our own programmes in 1992, we became GNP+. The mission of the Global Network of People living with HIV (GNP+) is to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV. Based on the expressed concerns and needs of communities of people living with HIV, GNP+ focuses on themes of crucial importance to people living with HIV, including: preventing prenatal transmission of HIV; promoting access to treatment, care and support; promoting the rights of people living with HIV, including their sexual and reproductive health and rights; addressing stigma and rights violations, including at the work place; and promoting the Greater Involvement of People Living with HIV (GIPA principle) and the leadership of young people living with HIV. In promoting the involvement of people living with HIV (PLHIV), GNP+ also promotes the engagement of young people, women and girls and other key populations living with HIV, including men who have sex with men, LGBT people, people who use drugs, and sex workers.
