More than 700 people in the remote communities of Chañaral and Diego de Almagro in Chile this year received free dental services through our Smiles for a Future Programme. This is the third year that we have run the programme in partnership with Fundación Sonrisas (Sonrisas) and the relevant municipalities close to our Salares Norte mine. Over two weeks, more than 15 health professionals performed dental checks and clinical procedures, and shared knowledge about oral health and disease prevention. __________ Helping to make healthcare services accessible to the people in our communities is one way we work to share the value of gold mining. From going 3km underground at our South Deep mine and experiencing our virtual reality and simulation training to one-on-ones with other leaders at our head office in Johannesburg 🙌 💪The visit formed part of Gold Fields’ global Inspire Leadership programme. Launched in 2023, Inspire is one of the courses created especially for our company by Korn Ferry to keep developing those leading #TeamGoldFields in creating enduring value beyond mining. A key focus of the programme is visiting our offices and operations across the world for developing global insights and relationships. But this is just one component of Inspire, which five different groups of leaders will complete by 2025. 🩺 Bringing healthcare to our communities 🩺 The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation took its quarter 3 medical outreach to the Brahabobom community in Tarkwa, providing free health services to community members. Medical professionals offered consultations and checked over 570 community members for malaria, hypertension, eyesight and glucose levels, after which they were given prescribed medications. 🙌 Shout out to our volunteer doctors, nurses and pharmacists, who dedicated their time and expertise to support the programme. Many of them are alumni or current recipients of foundation scholarships. __________ Our health outreaches are all about helping to build healthy, resilient communities by making services like these accessible. 🙌 An update on Gold Fields’ largest renewable project to date at our St Ives mine in Australia 🙌 When completed, a combination of solar and wind energy will deliver 73% of the site’s electricity requirements and reduce reliance on the grid. Learn more about the project and meet some of the people behind it ⬇️ The project is a first for our company as we are building and managing the entire project in-house. 😊 Smiles all around 😊 In Chile we have kicked off the third edition of the Smiles for a Future programme, in partnership with Fundación Sonrisas (Sonrisas) and supported by the Chañaral and Diego de Almagro municipalities.
