It helps to see & know there is (still) a need, to stop procrastinating and (re)launch an initiative. For more than a year from March 2020 I hosted and facilitated a weekly virtual "Open Space Think Tank", and had requests and intentions to relaunch it for a while. So I did, and we had our 1st Izindaba on 16 April. Based on poll results, I will now host it every 1st Tuesday of the month. Send me a direct message on LI if you are interested in future sessions. Although the name and focus is now different, the purpose and participatory conversational flow is the same. The new name “Workplaces in Transition Izindaba” speaks to what this will be about … “Izindaba” (plural of Indaba) - Indaba is a Zulu word for “important meeting” that seeks “to gather the right people together at the right time to discuss the right issues. The Indaba emphasizes “deep talk” and acknowledges that we all have something important to say. “Workplaces in Transition” – Our key focus will be on the why, what and how of navigating the emerging world of work in a VUCAD environment, and influencing better workplaces … e.g. improving how we attract, retain, manage and develop talent (including new generation entering), teams, leadership, workplace culture, digital transformation, and develop organisations that create value for all stakeholders and grow economies. The Izindaba are facilitated conversations around strategy, global trends, challenges and problem solving together, ideas, rethinking, reinvention, redesign, and pragmatic implementation of solutions. It is a supportive, safe space where everyone shares with and learn from others (no recording of sessions), conversational, a discussion and think tank room, opportunity for Q&A and sound-boarding, mentoring and coaching. Do you fear weakness? We often hear that we cannot succeed unless we fix our weakness, and we put together the following plan. Does your plan for growth look like this? Step 1: Assess your areas of strengths and weaknesses. If you are good, or moderately good at something, don’t worry about it – instead, focus on what isn’t working.
