Happy Friday! (FriYAY) What a week this has been! I was privileged to spend a few days in Cape Town revising tips and tricks in Xero and showcasing the #timesaving advantages thereof to clients. ✔️ I LOVE to see the excitement when clients learn a new trick (or new to them trick). ✔️ I also love to see the light 💡 switch on for new adopters! One of the value adds I also showed them was how monthly management accounts for group companies can be summarized on one page with reporting in Syft Analytics and that really blew them away! While I was showcasing this, the news broke about Syft Analytics being purchased by Xero! Two of my favorite programs in our app stack coming together is really wonderful! I am super excited and can’t wait to see where this will go! Congratulations to both teams and companies. While talking of app stacks, the integration between SimplePay and Xero was also expanded on - specifically the tagging in pay points connection to tracking categories. Just another way to save time and make business more beautiful! So all in all a successful trip and week! #happyclients #happyaccountants #missionaccomplished!

This morning our team Howard Joel and Company celebrated the year that was with a delicious breakfast at The Genesis Bistro in Johannesburg. #2023 has been a year filled with so much and we are so #grateful to have done it together. Our first full calendar post the pandemic has certainly had its #challengesandopportunities, but with it has brought tremendous new people, new clients and new projects. Thank you to all our #colleagues, #clients, #partners, #serviceproviders and #friends who have supported us. We look forward to experiencing #2024 with all of you! An unintentional mini-blog This week, I successfully combined a year-end event for two groups of professionals with whom I meet every month or every quarter, respectively. Both groups, a #taxpractitioners discussion group and a group for partners/owners of #SMP small to medium sized #CA(SA) practices, meet to acquire new #knowledge, learn from #experts and each other, and provide #support and #solutions to challenges that crop up in the SMP environment. Before COVID (BC😆) meetings only happened in person but with the advent of COVID and the transition to #onlinemeetings it was only towards the end of last year that the tax group started to meet #inperson again, providing an online option for those who had moved away from Johannesburg or couldn’t physically meet with the group anymore. The practices group still meet online. We decided for the #yearend to do something different and moved both meetings (as one) to a conference facility with catering, had guest speakers and sponsors to provide a refreshed, relevant and enjoyable experience to all members.
