How's Cybersecurity Awareness Month going in your organisation? There are 4 things that all your employees should know about so they can help prevent cyber attacks against your organisation. According to #Fortinet, 81% of organisations faced attacks last year that specifically were targeted at users / employees. These attacks included malware, phishing, and password attacks. Keeping your employees up to date is vitally important! 🔒 Password Management: Teach employees how to create passwords that are difficult to crack, as well as how and why to use a password manager. ✅ Multi-factor authentication (MFA): An extra layer of defense against cybercrime. Employees should have it in place, understanding why it’s effective and how to use it. 🪝 Phishing: The number one method used to against employees to infiltrate corporate networks and launch attacks involving ransomware and malware. All employees need to know how to recognise phishing attempts and the steps to take if they think they’re a target. 💻 Software updates: One of the easiest ways to reduce the risk of falling victim to cybercrime is to keep software and applications updated. Enforcing regular software updates with your employees assists in “patching” this vulnerability. Helping employees become more cyber-aware is imperative! Have you arranged any cyber-security training for your people lately? #WeAreIntelys #Intelys #cybersecurity #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth

Practicing good cyber-hygiene starts by being cyber-aware.    Here are 3 things you and your staff can do to avoid #phishing attacks ↓ 1. Pay attention to web URLs that come via email to ensure they're legitimate. 2. Inspect the email sender's email address to spot impersonation. 3. Do not click on suspicious attachments that could contain malware.   Criminal hackers prefer🪝phishing because it is easy to do and works much of the time.   They often use automated phishing tools and good graphics that can look exactly like banks and company logos.   💡 Training your people to spot malware and phishing attacks is vitally important in today's business world.   If your people can identify and avoid potential threats during their normal work routines, you have a head-start in avoiding cyber attacks.   Of course, this is only scratching the surface.   Other tools that aid in the fight against cyber crime are things like using multi-factor authentication, network access control and having a robust disaster-recovery plan.   How often do you spot phishing attacks in your own email inbox? #intelys #WeAreIntelys #cyberawareness #cyberrisk

We work hard, and we play hard! You may have seen our post a few days ago about our super-fun customer go-karting event, co-hosted by our partners HPE Aruba. Well here's the live action video footage - just to bring you a little more FOMO. Thanks again to everyone who made this event possible and so very awesome, especially our very own Claudia Holder for arranging everything! #HPEAruba #Intelys #WeAreIntelys

What cyber resilience means, and the 3 critical elements you must be aware of ↓ Cyber resilience is your organisation's ability to prevent, withstand, and recover from cybersecurity incidents. You can look at it in 3 parts: 1. Prevent. Keep the bad guys out. The hackers, viruses, and malware. 2. Withstand. Even if an attack happens, critical systems keep functioning. 3. Recover. Even when catastrophe strikes, it's how you bounce back. It's your disaster-recovery plan. Cyber resilience is important for business continuity, financial security, reputation management, and it gives you a competitive edge. This stuff is important to us, so we took some time last week to get together with some of our customers, and our partners #ArcticWolf, to discuss this very relevant topic. Who do you trust to look after your cyber-security safety net? #WeAreIntelys #Intelys #cybersecurity

Cybersecurity & networking is serious, but we take having fun seriously too! This is especially true when we're with our customers and partners. On Thursday this week, we co-hosted a handful of our customers with our partners from HPE Aruba, at Avianto Estate's Epic Karting. Yes, we talked shop - Neo Mabotja gave us the run-down on Unified #SASE, but we also strengthened friendships and had enjoyed some competitive go-kart racing! You see, we value our relationships with our customers and our partners - we couldn't do what we do without them. A really warm thanks to everyone who made this memorable day possible! #WeAreIntelys #Intelys #HPEAruba

Network Access Control (NAC) is like the bouncer at the entrance of your organization’s network. It’s there to make sure only the right folks get in, while keeping the troublemakers out. Here’s why it matters:   🛡️ Security: NAC ensures that when someone wants in (whether it’s a laptop, smartphone, or other connected device), it checks their ID. If they’re legit they're given access. If not, they’re denied entry.. This helps prevent unauthorized access and keeps cybercriminals from crashing your party.   🧹Device Hygiene: NAC ensures that every device joining the network is squeaky clean: Up-to-date on security patches, antivirus software, and not hiding any digital threats. If a device is slacking in the hygiene department, NAC quarantines it (think of it as a digital timeout) until it shapes up.   🔎 Visibility: NAC hands out virtual magnifying glasses to your IT security team. They can see who trying to access what, and why. With this visibility, they can spot anomalies, track down security threats, and play digital detective.   ✅ Compliance: NAC ensures everyone follows the rules... like ensuring data is encrypted, or not installing unapproved apps.   💰 Cost Savings: NAC automates stuff. Instead of IT people you don't have manually checking every device, NAC does it quickly, and accurately. Fewer IT resources are needed, which means you can be more profitable.   Ultimately, NAC is the guardian angel that keeps things secure, organized, and drama-free.   Any advantages of NAC that we’ve missed?   #NAC #cybersecurity #intelys
