Changing the stories of inequality in South Africa, to see thriving communities.
About us
The Kolisi Foundation was founded by Siya and Rachel Kolisi in March 2020 with a vision to change narratives of inequality in South Africa. By working alongside others, adding our story to the stories of communities and individuals who are changing the world. The Kolisi Foundation seeks to support people living in under-resourced communities in South Africa, by providing resources, facilitating capacity-building and horizontal learning exchanges, and mobilizing and advocating for systemic change.

Our partners at MOSAIC have distributed our Power2You packs to Spar employees, many of whom start their shifts in the early morning while it’s still dark. These packs provide essential tools to help ensure their safety as they travel to work. We’re thankful for this partnership and the collective effort to fight against gender-based violence. #Power2You #WorkplaceSafety #EndGBV #KolisiFoundation

At the Kolisi Foundation, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We believe in learning from those who know and do better, rather than reinventing the wheel. By understanding and supporting the amazing work already being done by so many organisations, we can make a greater impact together. #Collaboration #Partners #KolisiFoundation

We're proud to share that all 6 Siyaphakama schools now have proper fencing, with Sithembile Primary School being the final site to be completed. This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to improve school infrastructure within the Siyaphakama Zwide Schools Project. Looking forward, we're excited about developing a multi-purpose field at Isaac Booi and a multi-purpose court at Emsengeni to further support our students’ growth and development. #Siyaphakama #CommunityDevelopment #KolisiFoundation

Our recent Partners Day in Zwide was a powerful opportunity for our corporate and implementing partners to experience the Siyaphakama Zwide Schools Project. They connected with our dedicated coaches and gained insight into the Kolisi Foundation’s impactful work. We’re grateful for the shared commitment to creating lasting change in South Africa! #PartnersDay #KolisiFoundation #Siyaphakama

This collaborative project between Groote Schuur Hospital Trust and MOSAIC is making strides in the fight against gender-based violence. A simple yet powerful set of questions are helping identify those experiencing gender-based violence (GBV) and/or intimate partner violence (IPV). This initiative — born within #KolisiConnect — has also led to vital training for nurses on GBV and IPV, ensuring they are equipped to support survivors. Together, we hope to expand this programme to hospitals nationwide, creating safer communities across South Africa. #EndGBV #AuditAugust #KolisiFoundation

SAPRO recently empowered their employees by giving out our Power2You packs at their Women's Day brunch! These packs are a commitment to safety and GBV awareness in the workplace.
