• Unlocking Vineyard Potential: Precision Nutrient Management in the Hex-River Valley Although this season began later than usual, table grape production in the Hex-River Valley is now making steady progress. Growers are focused on precise shoot and leaf thinning to optimise sunlight exposure and regulate bunch numbers—key practices that directly enhance fruit quality, boost yields, and improve profitability. At this crucial pre-flowering stage, precision nutrient management is essential. The right balance of nutrients now will not only determine the overall yield but also influence berry size, uniformity, colour, and shelf life—critical factors for meeting market demands and securing top returns. Farmers working with Kynoch are already seeing encouraging growth, supported by fertilisation programmes tailored specifically to their vineyard conditions. These programmes are designed to supply nutrients at the right time to ensure healthy development throughout the growing season. Kynoch remains committed to supporting producers every step of the way, offering expert guidance and innovative solutions to address challenges as they arise. We look forward to helping farmers unlock the full potential of their crops this season. • The Importance of Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) for Sustainable Farming In agriculture, efficiency is key—not just in operations but also in how nutrients are managed. Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) refers to how well crops absorb the nutrients applied through fertilisers. Optimising NUE helps farmers achieve higher yields with fewer inputs, reducing waste and improving profitability. 💡 Why Does NUE Matter? 🔸 Improves crop quality and yield without excessive fertiliser use 🔸 Reduces environmental risks, such as nutrient leaching 🔸 Lowers input costs by avoiding over-application 🔍 How Can Farmers Improve NUE? • Apply the right fertiliser source specific to your crop’s needs • Use the right rate to avoid over-fertilising or under-fertilising • Fertilise at the right time for optimal nutrient uptake • Place fertilisers in the right spot – close to crop roots for efficient absorption At Kynoch Fertilizer, we help you maximise your returns with the right fertilisation strategy for your farm. Our team of experts works with you to ensure you get the most out of your soil and inputs, fostering both sustainable production and long-term soil health. Let’s grow a sustainable future together – because every farm is unique.
