🌐 "Most of history was built by young people. They just got credit when they were older. The only way to learn something is by doing it." - Naval I'm a young person making history in real time. And based on the words of Felix Dennis, "Having found what they needed where they needed it, and having done what they judged needed doing, their search is over. And it is they who will become rich." Thank you for the fruitful partnership Adrian van der Velden , Andrea Beneke and iXperience! It is through such transformative partners that I and Katlego will build Funti3r into one of the best startups in the world. Godspeed Dylan Robertson 🚀 #web3 #ai #startups #Africanstartups #tech

#Innovation is both at the heart of business success, and hard to pin down. We found some research that identified five very learnable skills that distinguish innovation leaders: associating, questioning, observing, experimenting, and networking.

Call to entry for our annual Circular Innovation Challenge 2024! Hosted by SOLVE@Waterfront, the Vikāra Institute and the V&A Waterfront. We are seeking entries of products, technologies and/or services which encourage the move from a linear to a circular economy. Our vision is a future in which everyday items such as textiles and plastics, food production and construction materials, and byproducts of living such as waste and blackwater, are produced, consumed, and/or managed in a circular and regenerative manner. Our vision, thus, is a world in which resources are conserved, waste is minimised, and ecosystems are preserved, leading to a thriving and sustainable society. Our top finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their idea to a panel of experts in the circularity field at Vikára’s annual symposium (22 – 24 Oct). The winner will be awarded a cash prize, training that addresses any specific needs they may have, mentorship, and access to business contacts along with excellent exposure to other businesses and potential customers through testing their product or service at the V&A, if relevant. If you are based in Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Eswatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe) and have developed an innovative solution that meets the definition of circularity, and have at least a prototype ready for testing, we encourage you to make use of this opportunity to grow and develop your network and your business. Applications close on 13 September 2024. Be sure to visit https://lnkd.in/dgNmSchW to check your eligibility and enter today! Don't miss this incredible chance to make a difference and shape a sustainable future. #circularinnovation2024 #circulareconomy #sustainability #inclusiveness #innovation #ourbetternature Petro Myburgh Heather Parker Katharina Gihring Sam Smout Casper De Villiers Chris Whyte OceanHub Africa African Circular Economy Network (ACEN) UN Innovation Network The Litterboom Project NPC

Cara-Jean Petersen, your LevelUp fans and friends offer huge congratulations for this award! You are pure inspiration. #womenwholead #purposefirst
When receiving the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town Women In Business Award for Community Impact at their 25th Annual WIB Conference, two moments came to mind: 1. When my gran stood up to a bully to defend her baby sister, got punched in the face and ended up with a broken nose, but walked away proud of herself for standing up for what she believed in and 2. When Tracey Chambers told us at an IMM workshop that “If the WHY doesn’t make you cry, you won’t stick it out.” These two moments reminded me that its vital to stand up for what you believe in no matter the pain and that I am so blessed to serve as CEO of Feenix.org , an organisation whose WHY still makes me cry. Thank you so much to Jaryd Raizon for nominating me for this award, to the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town for selecting me, for my team both at work and at home and all those that I’ve been able to work with along the way to achieve meaningful impact as I live out a purpose-driven life. The best is yet to come! 💪🏽

Such an interesting article from Dave Wallace in FinTech Futures around what it means when "No cash" becomes the norm. Huge swathes of SA's population are still cash-based, and those options are shrinking. So where do the solutions lie? Here's an intriguing suggestion in old tech...
