“Wonderful!” That’s how Swiss #volunteer ward nurse Agnès Chapalay describes every day. She's excited to wake up and serve patients, seizing every opportunity to take care of them and lift their spirits. “Working as a ward nurse with Mercy Ships is an opportunity to offer my skills and God-given gifts to change the lives of others, while also letting them touch my heart and change my life by giving me experience and a new vision of the world.” If changing lives excites you, then #MercyShips has a place for you on board! #FindYourPlaceOnBoard #SafeSurgery #HopeandHealing #WestAfrica #GlobalMercy #AfricaMercy Photo Credit: Tirsa Tapia Zamora

When Justinah was about 6 months old, her mother Vitasoa brought her to a local hospital for a cleft lip. But nothing could be done as the surgery was too costly. Then, Vitasoa heard about the arrival of the #AfricaMercy and was so filled with hope that Justinah became the first registered patient in the region. “I’m so happy,” rejoiced Vitasoa, “People won’t reject her anymore and the other kids won’t judge her for being different.” #MercyShips #HopeAndHealing #Madagascar #Pediatric Photo Credit Joshua Chau

A month after receiving his free operation, Mamadou and his mother came back to the ship for celebration of sight; a ceremony for patients that have received successful eye surgeries. His sight has greatly improved, he's better at identifying objects, and he’s returning to school when next session resumes. “Mamadou can do work for me now. He can move around without jumping his steps or falling,” said his mother. She hopes that her son will become a medical doctor in the future. Another amazing story of hope and healing, thanks to extraordinary people like you. #MercyShips #GlobalMercy #SafeSurgery Photo Credit: Abigail Beinetti
