Today, we hosted the biggest tasting event in our company's history. The good people at Old Mutual South Africa joined us at our facility in Cape Town for a meet and greet, panel discussion and a tasting of our lamb meatballs. The reactions from our lamb cooking all the way through to serving, could not have been better! Here's a snapshot of our morning–huge thanks to the team at Old Mutual and the organisers at WillShift and Emeritus for making it happen! #cultivatedfoodproducts #cellularagriculture #foodsystems #foodtech

The future's looking bright for cultivated meat in the UK! 🚀 The UK government’s new regulatory framework is set to accelerate cutting-edge technologies like AI, drones, and now, cultivated meat, bringing transformative benefits to essential sectors, from healthcare to food production. With £1.6 million awarded to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) through the Engineering Biology Sandbox Fund, regulatory processes for cultivated meat will be streamlined. This positive shift opens doors for companies like us to help bring sustainable, cultivated food products to mainstream markets faster. The future of food just got a little closer! Meet Nicholas, lab manager here at Newform Foods. Nic oversees the day-to-day operations of our tissue culture laboratories, ensuring compliance with ‘Good Lab Practice’ standards while supporting R&D efforts, particularly in genetics. His role includes managing inventory, equipment maintenance, environmental monitoring, and establishing quality management systems that drive our laboratory's success. “The dynamic environment and vast potential for growth within the industry are what I love most about being at Newform Foods. Working with a startup exposes me to all facets of the business, from scientific research to operational management, which helps me cultivate a diverse skill set. I place a lot of value on gaining experience and know-how in my career. I’m primarily motivated by the impact our work will have. Imagine a world where efficient technology meets humanity's needs without the requirement of using and decimating precious land and seas. We can rewild fauna and flora, and rehabilitate our biosphere back to a less human-centric, more ecosystem-friendly approach. This is what drives me; I want to play a key role in advancing research and developing systems that ensure the success of this dream and Newform Foods align with this goal." #cultivatedfoodproducts #cellularagriculture #foodsystems #foodtech

Breaking News From the UK! The UK is taking a major step forward in supporting cultivated meat with the launch of Europe’s first regulatory sandbox, backed by £1.6 million in government funding. This funding will help the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Scotland (FSS) conduct rigorous safety assessments for cultivated meat products, ensuring they meet the UK's novel foods regulatory framework. We’re excited about these developments as we continue to expand in the UK and help bring cultivated meat and food products to mainstream markets faster and more efficiently.
