This month we are proud to have paid out a total of R45 million to 2,530 employees through the successful vesting of the My Omnia Broad Based Share Scheme, established in 2021. The United Nations estimates that 60 million people in southern Africa are food insecure. To alleviate food insecurity, Omnia’s Food Security programme in collaboration with Reel Life NPC supports sustainable food gardening and creates income-generating opportunities for communities in South Africa. The project includes on-the-ground training and the support from nine community champions. Over 30 years ago, BME, a Member of the Omnia Group introduced dual-salt cold emulsion products in the South African mining industry. As the world celebrated International Literacy Day yesterday, we are reminded that literacy is a fundamental human right and opens doors of opportunity for people. According to UNESCO, literacy is critical for creating a just and sustainable society.  Omnia invests in educational programmes which contribute to and improve the outcomes of #STEM education. This includes funding for mathematics and science revision programmes for Grade 11 and 12 learners and mentoring top-performing female STEM learners. We collaborate with organisations that are committed to increasing the participation of young men and women in STEM education and careers.
