  • Why WPQRs are critical in the oil and gas industry and why accreditation matters Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) are not just a regulatory requirement in the oil and gas industry; they are the backbone of operational integrity and safety. In an environment where a single failure can have catastrophic consequences, WPQRs ensure that every weld meets the highest standards of performance under extreme conditions, such as high temperatures and pressures. They provide the assurance that materials can withstand the rigors of service, safeguarding lives, assets, and the environment. Choosing an accredited materials testing laboratory for WPQRs is crucial. Accreditation to standards like ISO 17025:2017 signifies that a lab adheres to the highest levels of accuracy and reliability. It means that the results you receive are not only trustworthy but also recognized globally, giving you a competitive edge in compliance and quality assurance. At One Eighty Materials Engineering Solutions, we take pride in being Africa’s leading ISO 17025:2017 accredited materials and metallurgical testing laboratory. Our unique status as a Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore Lab, along with our memberships in ILAC and the South African Institute of Welding, underscores our commitment to excellence. We are the only materials testing laboratory affiliated with the South African Stainless Steel Development Association, ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry standards. By partnering with us, you gain access to unparalleled expertise and state-of-the-art testing capabilities. We deliver results you can trust, enabling you to focus on your core operations while ensuring your welding processes meet the stringent demands of the oil and gas sector. Don’t compromise on quality; choose One Eighty for your WPQR needs and secure your operations' safety and reliability.
