🚀 FROM A CRAZY IDEA TO THE WORLD STAGE – SOOFIA ROBOTICS TO COMPETE IN GENEVA! 🏆🌍 This moment feels surreal. Just over a year ago, I had this wild idea—could we bring robotics to Soofia? 🤔 I bounced the idea off my long-time friend Huzaifa Khan, at Resolute Education, and without hesitation, he said: "Why not?". That was the start of something insane. Since then, it’s been a relentless journey—countless hours of planning, building, learning, failing, improving, and pushing forward. Staff, students, and our supporting team—with the aid of Resolute Education—worked behind the scenes to make this dream a reality. And today, I am beyond proud to say: 🥇 Soofia Robotics has qualified to compete in Geneva, Switzerland, representing our country on a global stage! On March 15th, our team took on the STEAMLes Robotics Challenge, in partnership with AI For Good, tackling the theme: "Disaster Response." 🚨 The Challenge: A simulated 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit the capital, and our students built robotic solutions that: ✅ Rescued survivors from collapsed buildings ✅ Transported the injured to safety ✅ Evacuated people using advanced robotics 💡 This wasn’t just about competition. It was about proving that young minds in Lesotho can innovate, compete, and create solutions that could impact real lives. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the incredible team at Soofia International School who have worked tirelessly to support and guide our students:👏Mr. Kananelo Rantso, 👏 Mr. Khotso Foka, 👏 Mr. Monamoleli Monamoleli, 👏 Ms. Palesa Libe, and 👏 Mr. Rabohlale Thaba. And of course, a huge thank you to all the support from students, staff, Resolute Education, and everyone who believed in this. This isn’t just a competition. It’s a movement. 🚀 What started as an idea is now part of a bigger vision—to make Soofia a leader in STEM and robotics education in Lesotho, inspiring students to dream bigger, build smarter, and push boundaries.
