Despite heightened volatility from U.S. recession concerns and a stronger Japanese yen, developed market equities rose by 2.7%. Interest rate-sensitive assets, like Global REITs, saw a strong recovery (+6.2%), and the S&P 500 continued to perform well. Asian and emerging markets gained 2% and 1.8% respectively. In the Eurozone, inflation estimates dropped to 2.2%, nearing the ECB’s target, while the Bank of England made a narrow call to cut interest rates by 25 basis points.
