We just returned from Cape Town, where we attended the 8th World One Health Congress! 🌍 This was the first time this major conference was held in Africa, providing a platform for policymakers, researchers, scientists, funding agencies, and the private sector to discuss multisectoral collaboration in human, animal, and environmental health. With participation from organizations like the World Health Organization, World Organisation for Animal Health, FAO, UN Environment Programme, and Africa CDC, the conference addressed global challenges such as epidemic response, zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and the health impacts of climate change. Illumina proudly sponsored the event, showcasing our commitment to the One Health approach with cutting-edge genomic tools in pathogen surveillance, pandemic preparedness, combating antimicrobial resistance, and improving animal health. Many thanks to all the delegates who visited our booth, attended our session, or joined us in our side meetings. Congratulations to those who won prizes from our lucky draw! It was truly inspiring to connect with the One Health community from around the world. We look forward to seeing you at the next edition of WOHC. Kudos to all the colleagues who made this happen and to our local partner SEPARATIONS for their great support. #WOHC2024 #OneHealth #GlobalHealth #Genomics4All, #Illuminaproud Janice Teo, Tamsin Eades, Cara Lim, Valeria Affannato, Bridget Mogale, Xavier DAVID, Michael Abdo, Pieter Bouwman, Jacques du Preez, PhD
