Integrating CG with dynamic humans, is notoriously hard. Without green screens, it typically involves hours of soul-crushing rotoscoping. Simulon automates this, with real-time, on-device previews so you can see the actual frame while shooting. The mask is then refined during cloud rendering. We've received a few questions about Simulon’s performance in outdoor environments. The effectiveness largely depends on the trackable features in the setting. Check out this video made by Aaron Sisto in the beta, where he placed assets far apart in a large open meadow. If you watch to the end, you’ll see that tracking quality holds up quite well. Please note that, as seen in this video, real-world occlusion support is currently limited. However, we're making significant improvements in this area over the next few weeks. Some scene reconstruction R&D at Simulon that produces more detailed meshes quickly and is able to exclude moving objects without explicit segmentation. This improves occlusion of real-world objects and provides better meshes for 3D creators. Coming to the beta soon. #vfx #3d #virtualproduction
