  • Are you confused about the next steps that the cosmetic industry in South Africa needs to take with regards to trade in cosmetics in the African market? Thankfully Percy SIBANDA from L’Oreal South Africa will elaborate on the status of the African Continental Free Trade Area Treaty (AfCTFA) and explain how cosmetic products are assigned African manufactured origin status, different tariffs, Category A cosmetic products , or constraints and many more factors we should be aware of.   Dr. Juanita Kilian , founder of DrK Dermal Health Care is in the house! DrK® Dermal Health Care is a medi-cosmeceutical brand that pioneers the science behind optimum skin health and what it essentially means to each consumer. However, we say yes to increased skin firmness! Amit Nandgaonkar from Seppic Research & Innovation, France will present on findings from a brown seaweed extract and the biosynthesis of sulfoquinovosyldiacglycerol. The extract restores the loss of mechanical support by increasing the biophysical parameter and reinforcing the collagen network. Chrizé van den Heever from the Nelson Mandela University lends insight to the much loved olive oil industry, specifically on olive pomace extract. When encapsulated into nanoliposomes, it enhances the stability and preserves the functionality of its bioactive compounds, especially the antioxidation properties present in the olive pomace extract. Why feel ‘green’ after a heavy night out when you can listen to Frederic Serres from Givaudan, France presenting on EpigallocatechinGallatyl Glucoside from green tea? A skin illuminating prebiotic that addresses the challenges of skin pigmentation, it is a biotech-enhanced molecule designed through cell-free glycosylation to imbue your skin with a holistic luminous effect. #coschem #cosmeticscience #science #oliveoil #greentea #brownseaweed #Africanfreetrade
