In the next few minutes, you will decide how this story ends because this is a story about us. I had the privilege of joining a panel of incredible experts at Startup Grind Durban, where we discussed the realities and complexities of enhancing inclusivity and diversity in the entrepreneurial space. We tackled pressing issues like the need for more practical education and the importance of leveraging social media platforms for exposure and success. I was also drawn to the debate of ambition vs. exposure and how positioning oneself strategically can make a significant impact. To address inclusivity in the workplace and funding institutions, we explored the potential of shifting the conversation towards compliance and effectively communicating the business benefits of diversity. But how this story ends is up to you as it hasn't been written yet. We were challenged at the end of the event to be the change that we want to see in the world by leaving our comfort zones: I now challenge you to be the same. An incredible thank you to Raeesa Bayat for organizing this needed discussion, to the incredible fellow panelists and speakers Nokuthula (Nox) Magwaza, Wendy Mahoney MACBL, Sabeeha Banubhai, Prasheen Maharaj - thank you. And, thank you Mzansi Web3 - ICP HUB South Africa for the ongoing support. #StartupGrind #Inclusivity #Diversity #Entrepreneurship #Innovation"

    Creative Founder

Last night, I had the privilege of attending a transformative Startup Grind Durban event in celebration of Women's Month, hosted at the iKhokha offices in Umhlanga. The theme of the evening, "Inclusive Entrepreneurship: Collective Growth, Shared Success," resonated deeply. The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote by Nokuthula (Nox) Magwaza from Bloom Marketing Agency, who set the tone with her insights on Purposeful Businesses. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible panelists: Sabeeha Banubhai at Jack Studios, Zime Nxumalo from Mzansi Web3 - ICP HUB South Africa, Wendy Mahoney MACBL from Newmella Holdings (Pty) Ltd, and Prasheen Maharaj from Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry NPC Your insights on overcoming challenges and championing the belief that we can be the change through our businesses were truly impactful. You reinforced that as startups and solo entrepreneurs, our approach to business—focused on purpose and inclusivity—is not only valid but essential. I also have to send a massive shout-out to two amazing entrepreneurs I connected with: Fanele Nxumalo, a scriptwriter, actor, and mentor, and Callum Oberholzer from OpenSeat . Let’s stay connected—you’re both incredible people! The evening was filled with raw emotions and genuine connections, as we shared the struggles and triumphs of navigating the corporate world. It was a reminder of the power of community and the importance of surrounding ourselves with like-minded professionals who are committed to making a difference. I’m eagerly looking forward to attending more #StartupGrind events when I visit home again in Durban and in Cape Town. To all entrepreneurs, I highly recommend joining the next #StartupGrind event near you—let’s continue to build purposeful businesses together!

🎉 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 Jack Studios 🎉 Today, I celebrate a decade of entrepreneurship—a journey that’s been nothing short of surreal, unpredictable, and vividly transformative. I can’t help but reflect on these past ten years filled with self-doubt, anxiety, and the joy of proving to myself that I’m capable. I now enjoy a life of absolute freedom, daring to live on my own terms, having achieved more than my wildest dreams. After 10 years of battling those voices in my head (and sometimes out loud) telling me I’m just a girl, that my business is a cute little hobby, and that I should be in the kitchen; I can proudly say that I have achieved my mom's wildest dream - to see me become a rich, independent woman. I finally feel worthy. Happy 10th Anniversary Sabeeha 💜 and a very Happy 10th Birthday to my first born Jack Studios 🎉 So here’s to everyone who’s been part of this wild ride 🎂🚀 Stay tuned—because if the first decade was this wild, I can only imagine what the next ten years will bring! ---- P.S We’ve got a special gift launching tomorrow! Comment with a 🎁 and I will DM you the link to get first access to it.
