We have embarked on a construction journey in Vienna, Austria, with the first-ever natural gas-free steam-generating heat pump being integrated into industrial operations. This innovative project, marked by a symbolic insertion of a time capsule in its foundation, is set to be a benchmark in the pharma industry and beyond. Together with our research partner, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), we aim to achieve a carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction of up to 80 percent at one of our major manufacturing sites in Vienna using only natural refrigerants. This initiative is more than just a milestone; it’s a testament to our commitment to a sustainable future benefiting patients, our people and the planet.
