The Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC) is one of 82 chapters of the American Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). The SAEEC supports the AEE’s mission to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for sustainable development. The SAEEC is committed to increase energy efficiency awareness in its region by encompassing the dynamic fields of energy engineering and energy management, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and all related areas. The SAEEC offers a variety of information resource tools through an array of information outreach programmes, from technical seminars, conferences, a book shelf service, job listing opportunities, local media participation, radio marketing, social networking and local online videos, international certification training programmes, electronic newsletter communication, student involvement to critical buyer-seller networking trade exhibitions.

Today, we proudly launched the Southern African Youth in Energy Sector Portfolio, an initiative under the The Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC) aimed at empowering youth in the energy sector. SAYES is dedicated to fostering innovation, sustainability, and leadership among young professionals. Our mission is to create a dynamic platform for youth to engage, learn, and lead in the energy industry, driving forward a sustainable future for all. A heartfelt thank you to the CEO of NYDA Waseem Carrim for honoring our invitation and sharing valuable insights about just transition, highlighting the importance of youth empowerment and sustainability. A huge thanks to Raymond Matlala Founder and Executive Foreman of SABYA, for the insightful discussions on how the youth can shape policy agendas within BRICS+ and the Global South. To Dr. Zenzile Rasmeni Masipa thank you for your valuable contributions on how the youth can leverage industry opportunities and for encouraging them to join SAYES.
