It was a real pleasure to work with THINK South Africa where we converted complexity and uncertainty into tangible action 🌍 Africa is susceptible to many external challenges from HIV and TB to the effects of #climatechange which also acts as a catalyst to social and environmental inequality. Crucially, international donor funded programs make a significant and measurable impact across the continent, but to ensure maximum impact, we need to optimize decisions👇 https://lnkd.in/dzz7JCrR Reach out to the Deloitte team: Mark Victor Saret van Loggerenberg Rushkin Padayachy Tendai Shitto Christin Chalwin-Milton Isaac Dednam Sharmala Ishwarlall Greg Rammego Sisa Ntlango Ashleigh Theophanides #impactthatmatters

Supporting Student Health at the University of Venda: A Collaborative Campaign Thanks to USAID's generous funding, #THINKSouthAfrica, in partnership with the #UniversityofVenda, joined the She Conquers - Zikhala Kanjani Campaign, which ran over four days from 19 to 22 August 2024. Held in the bustling campus cafeteria, the campaign reached nearly 500 students and staff, focusing on raising #TB awareness. Our THINK Vhembe Team offered health education and conducted TB screenings. TB testing was carried out using our Digital Mobile X-Ray Clinic, powered by AI technology for rapid and precise diagnosis. Other service providers on site offered #HIV and STI screening and testing, as well as dental care, contributing to a comprehensive approach to student wellness. A heartfelt thank you to the University of Venda for both hosting and inviting us to be part of this impactful campaign. USAID #StudentWellness #HealthAwareness #EndTB #TouchingLives

Elevating Student Wellness: THINK Mangaung’s Impactful Campaigns In collaboration with the Department of Health, #THINKSouthAfrica, funded by USAID, dedicated two significant days to enhancing student health through targeted TB awareness and screening campaigns. On 20 August, we focused on educating students at RT Mokgopa High School in Thaba-Nchu about TB and improving their access to healthcare services with our Digital Mobile X-ray Van. Following this, on 23 August, we continued our efforts at Botshabelo Selokisa Finishing School, where we provided TB screening and testing, while district partners offered additional healthcare services including HIV testing, condom distribution, and pad distribution. By providing essential services, we support students in maintaining their well-being, which is vital for their overall development and future opportunities. #USAID #StudentHealth #TBawareness #DoH #MakingADifference

This month, #THINKSouthAfrica, in partnership with the Free State Department of Health, participated in several key community engagement events. THINK South Africa’s work in these areas is made possible by the generous funding of USAID. 1️⃣6 August: TB screening and testing at the Central University of Technology’s Bloemfontein Campus during their Wellness Week. This event aimed to prioritise student health and education, helping young people secure their future opportunities through comprehensive health services and awareness. Higher Health provided mental health services, and Rainbow Seeds offered HIV testing. 2️⃣8 August: Community Dialogue with Traditional Health Practitioners (THPs) held at the Thaba-Nchu Barolong Community Hall. This dialogue was crucial for reaching remote communities, where THPs help boost healthcare demand. This event highlights the essential role of THPs in overcoming cultural barriers and promoting health. Pre-event engagements with THPs were conducted through the Kgolo Ya Dingaka Development Forum. 3️⃣15 August: TB screening and testing through our Mobile X-ray Clinic at an Old Age Home in Botshabelo H-Section. 65 elderly residents, many of whom were women, received immediate TB test results, reflecting our commitment to Women’s Month. Diabetes and hypertension screenings were provided by the Molefe Tau Clinic. 4️⃣19 August: Outreach in Botshabelo F-Section addressed significant barriers to healthcare access in rural and remote areas. THINK’s Digital Mobile X-ray Clinic was instrumental in providing TB testing and directing patients to appropriate care. This approach proved to be an effective strategy for improving primary healthcare services and curbing TB in the community, demonstrating the effectiveness of mobile clinics in reaching underserved populations. #USAID #THINKSouthAfrica #DoH #CommunityHealth #EndTB #TouchingLives
