Celebrate Easter with the KZN South Coast’s Mission Tourism Route. If you’re looking for a new and meaningful way to experience Easter this year, then head to the KZN South Coast’s Mission Tourism Route. A local guide will take you on a tour that touches on the history of the Trappist monks who settled in the region in the 1880s. Having established Mariannhill, the Austrian monk, Franz Pfanner and around 30 others established the Trappist order in KwaZulu-Natal. Two years later, they set up outstations as a way to provide education and skills training to communities in KZN’s rural areas – many of which can be found on the KZN South Coast. The Mission Tourism Route will stop at: The Capuchin Adoration Convent in Pumula; Maris Stella Mission at Oshabeni; Assisi Mission at Oshabeni; and Maria Trost Mission in St Faiths The Mission Tourism Route is the perfect way for historians, religious devotees, educationalists, and other interested visitors to discover more about the KZN South Coast’s rich, multi-cultural history. This Easter, uncover adventure on the #kznsouthcoast! Visit https://lnkd.in/eXtyGR7.

Uncover investment potential in KZN South Coast’s manufacturing sector. South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) have identified manufacturing as a key growth sector on the KZN South Coast, with several sub-sectors primed for investment! Furniture Manufacturing: There are quality crafted furniture products throughout the KZN South Coast. Out of Wood, which sources timber locally from Surejoy Industries, is an example of the potential in this sub-sector. SCTIE has identified a gap in the value chain for transporting these handcrafted goods to the Gauteng market and beyond. Textile Manufacturing: Opportunity exists in cut, make, and trim (CMT) manufacturing to support the local fashion industry. Cengemajita Fashion & Entertainment is one emerging CMT manufacturer, with school uniform manufacture a focus. Investors could further this capacity, with potential for a mall-based retail outlet. The KZN South Coast’s regional manufacturing sector is supported by: • The Eastern Seaboard Development, a project that aims to strengthen economic linkages between provinces; and • The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) that opens the region to the continental market. Rural communities often get left behind as society grows and changes, because they are so remote or isolated. The South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) team hopes to boost tourism in these areas, creating jobs and opportunities for the community to generate income. KwaNdwalane is one of those communities, where this investment is being made. SCTIE have established two tourist experiences in the area, creating jobs for guides and opportunities for more work for surrounding restaurants, guest houses and community initiatives.
