The Minister of Home Affairs, Dr. Leon Schreiber, has introduced a new Points-Based System for General Work and Critical Skills Work Visas. This system aims to streamline the visa application process, enhance transparency regarding application adjudication, provide certainty on a candidate's eligibility, and ensure timely mobilisation of skilled labour to support economic growth. This new regime requires applicants to score a minimum of 100 points to qualify for a General Work or Critical Skills Work Visa and comply with the prescribed requirements set out by the Immigration Regulations.
