Bukomo Business Initiative: Positioning SMEs for Investment In the previous financial year, Prospero embarked on a transformative journey to empower SMEs with identified compliance gaps. We provided these businesses with targeted technical assistance programs to help them excel and attract investment opportunities. One such business is Bukomo, a Solwezi-based company specializing in waste tyre recycling, which successfully participated in our Technical Assistance Program for SMEs. Today, Bukomo has made significant strides by transitioning from renting to owning two distribution stores in Solwezi, which has broadened its customer base and enhanced its market presence. Their production capacity has significantly increased, reflecting steady growth and their ability to meet rising demand. To boost operational efficiency, they have restructured their business into two main departments: a Hardware Store specializing in fence wires and related materials, and a Fashion Store offering handmade rubber sandals made from recycled tyres. This expansion has also led to the creation of 10 additional jobs. Learn more about Bukomo here https://bit.ly/4aIj5yi #SMETASupport #TechnicalSupport #SMEGrowth

We're excited to participate in a capacity-building workshop aimed at raising awareness of Zambia's Carbon Market Framework among developers. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment (MGEE) with support from the 'Supporting Preparedness for A6 Cooperation' (SPAR6C) Program. This workshop is part of the ongoing effort to develop the governance framework and support structure for carbon markets and carbon finance in Zambia. MGEE anticipates that carbon finance will create additional financial incentives for Zambia's low-carbon development across various key sectors. The development of the necessary statutory instruments is nearing completion. #CarbonMarket #SustainableDevelopment #GreenEconomy #CarbonFinance #Zambia #LowCarbonDevelopment #ClimateAction #SPAR6C #CapacityBuilding
