About us

Computer Society of Zimbabwe (CSZ) is an Internationally recognized professional body for Zimbabwe's community of ICT professionals. The Computer Society of Zimbabwe was founded in 1974 with one objective, that of benefiting the Computer Industry and all people who work in it. The Society's aims were to educate the general public on the use and development of Electronic Data Processing, today more widely known as Information Technology. It set itself up to bring people using computers together, to set up standards within the industry and to promote computers and their use in scientific and commercial environments.The developments in the Information Technology Industry over the last two decades have meant that the Computer Society of Zimbabwe has had to examine and update its position in the light of these developments.

  • SPEAKING AT CSZ SUMMIT 2024 Panellist Dr Efison Dhodho Strategic Information, Evaluation, Research, and IT Director – OPHID TRUST He is a dynamic medical and public health professional with over 15 years of experience in health systems strengthening, Results-Based Financing (RBF), and digital health innovation. He serves as the Strategic Information, Evaluation, Research, and IT Director at OPHID, leading data systems development, program evaluation, IT strategies, and health information initiatives to advance HIV care and public health. Dr Dhodho is also a PhD researcher at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, focusing on leveraging Electronic Health Records (EHR) to enhance person-centered care. He has led groundbreaking projects, including the implementation of T-MIS—a health management information system that enhances real-time data use at the community level—earning a Global Digi Award from USAID. Dr Dhodho has also been invited to present at prestigious events such as the GDHF Digital Health Forum, showcasing his expertise in leveraging digital health for social impact across Africa.

  • SPEAKING AT CSZ SUMMIT 2024 Panellist Fungai N. Mukora Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering Informatics and Communications at the University of Zimbabwe   She holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the UZ and is a PhD in Engineering candidate at the same University. Fungai has over 15 Years University experience in Research, Administration and Teaching. She joined the University of Zimbabwe in May 2005 as the Computer Liaison Officer, moved to the then University of Zimbabwe School of Technology as an Engineering Instructor teaching Hardware Engineering with a keen interest in Logic Design and Circuits, Number Systems and Digital Electronics. In 2019, she was the Acting Director in the School when the University embarked on its transformation and programming exercise. This process saw the birth of the Faculty of Computer Engineering Informatics and Communications in August 2020 and her subsequent appointment as Acting Dean as well as joining the new Department of Computer Engineering as a Lecturer. She became substantive Dean in May 2022. The Faculty is at the centre of developing ICT systems, products and solutions geared at supporting digitalisation in Zimbabwe. Fungai chairs the ICT Association of Zimbabwe Advisory Board, she's the Deputy Chairperson of the recently launched PORTRAZ ICT Journal's Editorial Committee and also sits on the Metbank Board of Directors. She participated in research on the Education Needs of children during emergencies and has research interests in ICT Adoption, Digital Transformation in marginalized groups and communities. Her PhD focuses on the 4IR in Higher Education in Zimbabwe.

  • SPEAKING AT CSZ SUMMIT 2024 Panellist Dr Lance Mambondiani Group CEO - Coronation Financial Holdings   Dr Lance Shingai Mambondiani is the CEO of Coronation Financial Holdings, a financial services firm with interests in the financial advisory, Payments, crowdfunding, lending and international remittances, AI and Data Analytics. He also serves as Managing Director at KingTech, a technology business that provides, fintech, technology and digital transformation solutions to small, medium, large corporate and government institutions across Africa. He is a former CEO of ABC Holdings Zimbabwe and Managing Director of BancABC Zimbabwe. Prior to BancABC, he was CEO at Steward Bank, a subsidiary of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe. He has worked for several regional and international financial institutions and was lecturer in International Finance for Development at the University of Lancashire in the United Kingdom. He is recognized internationally as a digital banking thought leader, with an established track record of innovating and delivering financial results in challenging environments.

  • SPEAKING AT CSZ SUMMIT 2024 Keynote Speaker Clarence Gama President – ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) Clarence has been leading teams in the financial, telecommunications, and technology teams for over 18 years. He is the President of the ICT Association of Malawi and Chief Executive Officer of NICO Technologies Ltd, a successfully Managed IT Services and Digital transformation company in Malawi. He is an Information technology graduate from the University of Malawi and IBM certified in Leadership, cybersecurity, and Project Management. He has also served as chairman of the Digital Grants Committee for the World Bank-funded Digital Malawi project. Clarence is passionate about music, motivation, and mentorship and enjoys public speaking, having once served as President of the Blantyre Toastmasters Club and Area Director for Toastmasters in Malawi.
