This week, our colleague Divika Jethmal represented CARMA at the International Media Marketplace Asia conference organised by TravMedia. She spoke on the ‘Travel Trends’ panel and delivered insights about the preferences and behaviours of Asian travellers. Some of the biggest travel trends include: the rise in boutique hotel demand driven by a desire for personalised experiences, and the growing popularity of ‘Bleisure’ trips as professionals increasingly combine business with leisure. There has also been a surge in solo travel discussions, reflecting a trend toward self-discovery journeys, along with strong interest in luxury travel across Asia, pointing to a shift toward high-value, exclusive experiences. Jeremiah Rodrigues, CARMA Malaysia & Philippines’s General Manager, shared on a radio interview with BFM 89.9 - The Business Station to discuss the boycotts Starbucks, Disney & Skechers are facing in Asia, “Monitoring a crisis looks at three key areas: Source, Content and Sentiment. First look at the source and analyse it, is it a legitimate group with a large following? Are they active in the topic they are pushing for?" "Is the content very vague or does it contain strong evidence? Lastly the sentiment, the momentum, what’s the traction like locally or globally?
