Thank you to the Tournament organisers of Emirates Dubai 7s and their team for hosting another spectacular Long Lunch event in the name of Dubai 7's for Good, to raise money for community projects in Uganda. This year, the event raised a staggering AED 580K! We are honoured to have been able to support such a worthy cause by not only being able to attend the 20th annual gala dinner but by donating some great prizes to aid the fundraising. The energy was electric, and it was the perfect way to kick off the countdown to Emirates Dubai 7s at the end of November, which will be bigger and better than ever. Meet Nisha Rani, Senior Manager – IT, Security, and Governance, dedicated to protecting and securing MMI & ELR from information security breaches, and safeguarding critical assets. Nisha focuses on improving security posture and ensuring that cyber defences evolve to meet emerging threats. She works closely with the IT and Digital teams to enhance processes, drive efficiency and support the overall security objectives, raising awareness and building a culture of vigilance and responsibility. ♦ What is your proudest accomplishment at MMI & ELR? Achieving the ISO 27001 certification - a significant milestone that underscores our commitment to robust information security management. Also, every year I work with the wider IT team to engage with our colleagues during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. My favourite time of year! ♦ What skills have you enhanced in your current role? I believe in building connections with colleagues. It fosters a healthy and collaborative work environment, which is essential for our collective success. I also understand the cybersecurity landscape is ever-evolving, and I must dedicate myself to continuous learning. I attend seminars and industry events to stay updated on the latest trends and threats. ♦ What do you wish people knew about your job? Cybersecurity is far more complex than just avoiding phishing scams. It's about anticipating and mitigating risks that are constantly evolving. I work with advanced technologies and strategies to protect, from securing cloud environments and managing identity access controls to implementing robust incident response plans and safeguarding data and the trust and reputation of the company. ♦ What attracted you to join MMI & ELR? It was a fantastic opportunity to build something from the ground up, giving me a unique and exciting challenge. I saw this as a chance to contribute significantly to MMI & ELR’s growth and to develop and enhance my skillset. ♦ What motivates you? The opportunity to educate and raise awareness about aspects of cybersecurity that people aren’t necessarily aware of. It's incredibly rewarding to help others understand the complexities of this field. ♦ What would people be surprised to learn about you? I’m not much of a foodie but I love cooking and host dinners regularly. There's something special about creating a welcoming environment and sharing a meal with others. ♦ If you could visit anywhere, where would it be? I love the mountains - somewhere I could enjoy a breathtaking view from my balcony. There’s something incredibly peaceful about sipping coffee while talking with my husband in a serene setting, a perfect blend of tranquillity and cherished moments. ♦ If you were a superhero, what would your name and powers be? CyberGuard! I would be able to detect and neutralise cyber threats before they emerge. I’d create impenetrable shields around networks, keeping all data and systems secure!

Keeping our delivery heroes cool in the Dubai summer heat with some Pret A Manger cold treats!   In an attempt to give back to the community, Emirates Leisure Retail have once again found a way to show their appreciation to the unsung heroes who work tirelessly every day to make our lives easier.   We handed out Pret cold drinks and snacks to over 2,000 amazing delivery riders who keep our communities connected and well-fed throughout the year. We are extremely grateful for all their hard work, and giving away Pret treats is our way of showing a small token of appreciation for their hard work.   We are proud to be part of a caring community and are committed to finding more ways to give back.
