We come together to celebrate International Women’s Day - a day that recognises the achievements, strength, and resilience of women across all industries, including our own. At Light Link, it's safe to say that the women play a big role in the day to day, from the very first - Patricia Flores-De Leon, who joined us 6 years ago! Our ladies headed out for a creative morning, where they got the chance to sit down for breakfast & take part in a creative activity! Thank you to Reena Sadier at Ment2Bee, who also joined our ladies to discuss the challenges woman face day-to-day and within the workplace. It helped us connect as a team & allowed us to open up in a safe space. A full circle story... Anyone who knows our story understands just how significant the PwC project was for Jaspal Bal, Light Link, and, ultimately, for me. When the pandemic hit, Light Link was just six months old. We had a newborn baby, and our emotions quickly shifted from hopeful to hopeless. I know everyone has their own COVID story, but ours was a double-edged experience. On one hand, we finally had our beautiful baby girl after 2.5 years of waiting. On the other, we had a new business that, quite frankly, seemed impossible to sustain while the world was in lockdown. Then, one day, Jas received a phone call that changed everything. He had won the PwC project. Overnight, our financial worries eased, allowing us to focus on what truly mattered; being present as a family of three and embracing the joys and challenges of new parenthood. So today, as I walked through the doors of PwC to lead the International Women’s Day event for the ME legal team, it felt like a full-circle moment. I’ll be sharing insights and photos from the day soon, but for now, I just wanted to put this out into the world. Today was truly the cherry on top.
