At Veolia Jordan, we were very honored to host Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Ali and His Excellency the Minister of Water and Irrigation, Mr. Raed Abu Soud at the Khirbet Al-Samra wastewater treatment plant. The site visit showcased our cutting-edge technologies in wastewater treatment, biogas generation, and odor control. This week, we had the privilege of hosting a site visit at our Jubail hazardous waste plant, Tahwil, in partnership with Jubail and Yanbu Industrial Cities Services Company (JABEEN). We were honored to welcome His Excellency Engineer Khalid Alsalem, the president of Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, His Highness Prince Badr Bin Khalid, Tahwil Chairman of Board Directors & Vice Chairman of Board Directors for Jabeen, the CEO for Royal Commission for Jubail Engineer Mahmoud Al-Theeb, and group of executives from both parties. During the visit, we provided a detailed presentation and in-depth walk-through of Tahwil's critical role in protecting human health and ecosystems. As a hazardous waste incineration facility, Tahwil is dedicated to transforming hazardous waste from all Jubail industries in accordance with the environmental regulations set by the Royal Commission. In the UAE, 73% of residents are now willing to eat food grown with recycled water, reflecting an 8% increase from 2022. This growing acceptance highlights the importance of resource conservation, pollution prevention, and economic benefits in driving behavior change. Globally, the figure stands at 79%, emphasizing the critical role of sustainable practices in addressing water shortages and supporting agriculture and the economy. The Barometer surveys 26 countries across five continents, covering a sample of more than half the global population. This comprehensive scope allows us to assess both global and local acceptance of existing ecological solutions and to uncover the barriers and drivers that influence their implementation.
