Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Angola (AHK Angola)

Companies in Angola are increasingly interested in renewable hydrogen. This is the Fact-Finding Mission that is currently underway on the grounds of the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Started on June 24th and it is scheduled for completion on June 28th. In anticipation of a Fact-Finding Mission on "Green hydrogen technologies and applications," the German economic delegation in Angola (AHK Angola) has acquired nine enterprises to participate in the exploration. Sonangol, ANPG Angola Prodel-EP SISTEC Energias, Resul, Kubinga Afori Solutions, MCA and SOAPRO are among the corporations involved in the delegation. This trip offers a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the hydrogen industry and to play a critical role in the decarbonisation of Angola and the promotion of sustainable practices in the energy, oil, and gas sectors. It is evident that the participants are gaining a more profound comprehension of the effective utilisation of hydrogen. Angola is in a unique position to absorb the highest amount of this resource due to its location and the fact that it generates an excessive amount of hydrogen. As part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), eclareon GmbH and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Angola (AHK Angola) conducted a fact-finding mission for decision-makers and SMEs from Angola from June 24th to the 28th, 2024 in Düsseldorf and Krefeld, Germany. During the business visit, Germany's leadership in green hydrogen technology and infrastructure was a key highlight, offering unique insights to Angolan stakeholders. The discussions centred on the potential for Angola to leverage its renewable energy resources for green hydrogen production, a move that could significantly boost economic growth and energy security. The fact-finding mission was a valuable opportunity for participants to gain a deep understanding of green hydrogen technology and its applications, and to establish connections with German businesses. The mission also included site visits to German enterprises and best-practice initiatives, as well as a networking event. One of the key takeaways from the mission was the potential for strategic partnerships between German and Angolan companies. Such collaborations could facilitate the exchange of knowledge, innovations, and best practices, leading to significant economic and political benefits for Angola. By accelerating its entry into the green hydrogen market, Angola could not only make a substantial contribution to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions but also inspire and motivate other nations to follow suit. While the topic of green H2 was under discussion, the primary focus was on addressing the question, 'What should be done with this carrier?' It was made clear to all that the main goal is direct electrification and then consider the end use for transformational/transport purposes. The surplus energy could be effectively utilised for either transporting goods to neighbouring countries or generating hydrogen for industrial purposes. The excursion also served to highlight Angola's superior renewable energy generation capabilities compared to Namibia. 📢 Veröffentlichung: AHK World Business Outlook Frühjahr 2024!   Der AHK World Business Outlook basiert auf einer regelmäßigen Umfrage der DIHK unter den Mitgliedsunternehmen der Deutschen Auslandshandelskammern, Delegationen und Repräsentanzen (AHKs). Dabei geben die im Ausland aktiven deutschen Unternehmen eine unmittelbare Einschätzung der eigenen Geschäftsaussichten beziehungsweise der konjunkturellen Entwicklung vor Ort ab. Die Investitions- und Beschäftigungspläne der Unternehmen sowie die größten Risikofaktoren werden ebenfalls von den AHKs abgefragt. Die Erhebung wurde vom 25. März bis zum 21. April 2024 durchgeführt und erfasst die Rückmeldungen von weltweit mehr als 4.300 deutschen Unternehmen, Niederlassungen und Tochtergesellschaften sowie Unternehmen mit engem Deutschlandbezug. Knapp ein Drittel (31 Prozent) der Unternehmen erwarten eine konjunkturelle Belebung an ihren Standorten im laufenden Jahr. Im Herbst 2023 waren es noch 22 Prozent. Noch jedes fünfte Unternehmen (19 Prozent) geht von einer konjunkturellen Abkühlung aus, nach 28 Prozent im Herbst. Weitere Details zu den Umfrageergebnissen finden Sie in der beigefügten Anlage.
