    Ialy Extension HEP, Vietnam - ANDRITZ has long established its leading position across the Indian region, and we have been successfully addressing the Southeast Asia hydropower market as well. A testament to this is our cooperation with Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam’s leading state-owned power utility. In a demonstration of their trust, EVN has awarded ANDRITZ the complete electromechanical works for the Ialy Extension project. This prestigious venture, situated in the Chu Pah district of Gia Lai province, involves the installation of two formidable 180 MW Francis units along with all necessary auxiliaries. August 2024 marked a significant milestone for the Ialy project. With impeccable site coordination, technical expertise, and unwavering support from our client, we successfully lowered and installed the stators and rotors for both units. This achievement underscores the synergistic cooperation between our teams on-site and EVN, paving the way for continued progress. Simultaneously, other site activities are proceeding at full throttle. We anticipate completing the installation of the remaining components in the coming months. Our partnership with EVN on this vital project is a source of immense pride.     We are pleased to announce the successful synchronization of the first generating unit at the 884 MW Suki Kinari Hydropower project in Pakistan! With an impressive head of 922 meters and a capacity of 221 MW per unit, this project features the highest head and the largest single-unit capacity for Pelton turbines in the country. ⚡️🌍 Built by China Energy Engineering Corporation and powered by ANDRITZ's state-of-the-art Pelton turbines, this project marks a significant milestone in delivering clean, affordable energy to over a million households. 💡⚡️ Pelton turbines are perfectly suited for high-head applications, delivering exceptional efficiency across a wide load range.     Renewables and power system stability The transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources also entails a fundamental transformation of the transmission and distribution grids. The electric power system is shifting from a rotating mass-dominated system to a power converter-dominated system. Without the appropriate measures, this will have a negative impact on power system stability. Engineering excellence from ANDRITZ is focused on the entire power train, from the synchronous condenser unit with its mechanical and electrical auxiliaries right up to the defined Point of Common Coupling (PCC) with the high voltage transmission system.     Pare HEP, India – A Journey of excellence with ANDRITZ In November 2018, the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Pare hydroelectric plant was entrusted to ANDRITZ by our esteemed customer, NEEPCO. This partnership began with the supply of electromechanical equipment in May 2018, and we have been deeply involved since the project's commissioning. ANDRITZ currently oversees the entire O&M of the Pare project, covering hydromechanical, electromechanical, and switchyard components. From 2018 to March 2024, our efforts enabled NEEPCO to achieve a record annual generation of 531.77 GWh in 2022-23, surpassing the designed energy generation of 506.42 GWh. Despite a challenging monsoon season, the plant outperformed its annual target of 480 GWh with an impressive generation of 448 GWh in 2023-24. Our robust safety management system and the implementation of the 5S workplace system have been cornerstones of our operations. By the end of July 2024, our dedicated O&M team, comprising over 60 qualified engineers and technicians, achieved 1,750 safe man-days. Additionally, ANDRITZ has implemented the ISO 55001:2014 Asset Management System at the powerhouse, resulting in an average machine availability of over 97%. As part of our corporate social responsibility, ANDRITZ has provided employment opportunities to local residents, donated desks to schools, furnished the local panchayat, and assisted the community in resolving water and electricity issues. Demonstrating our commitment to environmental concerns, we have planted over 700 trees in the project vicinity. The Pare hydro project stands as the best-performing power project in NEEPCO’s energy portfolio, a testament to the successful partnership and mutual trust between client and supplier. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to NEEPCO for their unwavering support and trust in us.     Modernization milestone at San Carlos hydroelectric plant in Colombia With great success we are continuing the development of modernization projects in synergy with ISAGEN S.A., one of the main energy generation and marketing companies in Colombia. ISAGEN has a net installed capacity of 2,914 MW in its hydroelectric plants in the national territory, representing 97% of its total generation, promoting hydropower as the largest source of renewable, clean, reliable and efficient energy generation. We are pleased that ISAGEN once again has entrusted us with the execution of modernization works. ANDRITZ is involved in the renewal of the equipment at the San Carlos hydroelectric power plant, which has a capacity of 1,240 MW with eight 155 MW units. The contract covers the modernization of the speed governors of all eight units based on the A8000 electronic platform. Thanks to the work of an excellent and highly skilled team, the first delivery was successfully completed and Unit 8 has been put into service at the beginning of June 2024.     On July 18, Dieter Hopf, CEO of ANDRITZ HYDRO LTDA. Brazil, and Letícia Tanquini, Health and Safety Manager (HSE), visited the Sobradinho HPP modernization project in Bahia, the company’s largest ongoing project in Brazil with 170 employees. During the visit, Hopf led a daily safety dialogue, emphasizing the importance of workplace safety and health and safety initiatives. The HSE area recently underwent a safety assessment and launched the CUIDE-SE! (‘Take Care of yourself!’) campaign, highlighting safe behaviors. “This visit marks a significant step in ANDRITZ Hydro Brazil’s commitment to safety, following the safety assessment presented in April. The company’s management is fully committed to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees, and we will consolidate this safety culture across all operations,” emphasized Hopf. The HSE field team at Sobradinho Site was recently reinforced to ensure achieving the goal of zero accidents. “ANDRITZ Hydro Brazil’s commitment to prioritizing safety is fundamental to the success and sustainability of its projects and the company’s sucess. Our CEO’s visit to the Sobradinho HPP modernization works underlines the company’s commitment to maintaining high safety standards for all its employees.     Pinnapuram PSP, India – The nation's premier fully integrated renewable energy initiative has entered its final phase, marked by a significant milestone achieved in late July 2024. ANDRITZ successfully dry spun the first unit, a testament to the enduring support and collaboration with our esteemed client, Greenko, whose proactive support and engagement is beyond commendation. The unit was spun up to the rated test limit along with the Static Frequency Converter (SFC) and completed the operation in synchronous condenser mode. This momentous event was achieved in the presence of our client and partners. The successful implementation of the dry spinning process with SFC for the initial unit sets the stage for optimizing the commissioning schedule for subsequent units. This achievement potentially establishes a new benchmark for the installation and commissioning timelines of future projects. We are proud to announce that the dry spinning of Unit 1 was accomplished within a remarkable seven-month period from the readiness of the barrel. This success is attributed to numerous cycle time reductions in the pre-assemblies of the guide apparatus, Main Inlet Valve and pressure test, stay rings, and spiral cases. In this moment of triumph, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our client Greenko, colleagues, and partners for their enthusiastic contributions.
