Colourful, modular, vibrant, and uniting – this is the vision for the Moosaik urban quarter at the entrance to Starnberg. At the heart of this district, we are constructing a timber office tower: Moo6. With its striking height and presence, it will serve as the defining centerpiece of the area, complementing the surrounding architecture. PATRICK STREMLER IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA In his presentation, Patrick Stremler will discuss how we can use digitalisation processes to design buildings today that meet our current expanded understanding of sustainability. This includes the repairability and recyclability of our built environment, but also how we can create something new from something old. An exciting aspect of this is the development of proprietary intelligent building systems that are fully compatible with each other, focusing on prefabricated elements and ensuring future adaptability and reusability. Our aim is to construct buildings that are around 70% reusable. 1. PRIZE FOR NoA The sustainable timber construction kit At the North German Academy for Finance and Tax Law Hamburg (NoA), civil servants from the tax administrations in Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bremen receive training and further education. The listed building currently in use at the present location cannot meet today's requirements for "new work" and "new education". Therefore, we are building a new timber system construction on the "Beim Pachthof" site in Hamburg Horn. The new NoA fulfils high design standards and modern requirements for learning and working environments. For the first time, the serial modular system is being trialled in the NoA project. We developed the system as part of a study together with specialist planners and the client. The prefabrication of the modules ensures a rapid assembly process on site. The building can thus be flexibly adapted to site-specific cubatures and designs as well as individual requirements in terms of size and function. With this innovative system, we are establishing a sustainable, climate-friendly and economical construction method for educational buildings in Hamburg. VOTE FOR THE COLLÈGE D'ORLINDE Our Collège d’Orlinde in Bretenoux has been nominated for Building of the Year Award at Austria-Architects. https://lnkd.in/dtEbW6MZ A school of wood, light and shade Wood is omnipresent in most of our school buildings to create a bright and warm atmosphere that promotes learning and socialising. This also applies to the college on the outskirts of Bretenoux. Set back from the road, it defines a public square with its wide west front. Harmoniously embedded in its rural surroundings, the horizontal monolith sets an urban accent at the entrance to the village. The Collège d'Orlinde is the first school in the Lot department to generate more energy than it consumes thanks to the 1,200 m² of photovoltaic panels on the roof.

b2 DEVELOPMENT CENTER b2 electronics GmbH in Klaus, which is part of the OMICRON electronics Group, is building a new company headquarters in Rankweil. We already expanded the Omicron headquarters in Klaus into a campus in 2015. Now we are uniting the three b2 locations under one roof. Read about the project here: https://lnkd.in/dcpwhAhu This innovative terraced timber building is a hybrid construction with PV systems, a groundwater heat pump and a green roof. The concrete basement and access cores are followed by a timber construction with external walls made of prefabricated timber modules. We are planning the building and processes in accordance to the klimaaktiv Gold Standard and thus are setting a strong example for environmentally conscious construction in the region. The planned building offers space for production and storage areas as well as office space for around 140 employees. It has been planned with the special feature of being able to grow with the company. If required, the first floor can be extended, adding 40 workstations to the offices on the second floor.
