📅 Events Last week, the Circular Valley Convention took place at the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf and, true to our mission of promoting circular solutions in the construction industry, we were also there with our HPP team. At the booth of the Düsseldorfer Klimapakt, we were able to present our project The Cradle - a C2C-inspired timber hybrid office building in Düsseldorf's Media Harbour - as a built example of a circular pilot project. Since 2022, we and many other companies have been partners in the “Düsseldorfer Klimapakt mit der Wirtschaft”, which is working towards the city's joint goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2035. The initiative was founded by the Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Düsseldorf, Germany and the Handwerkskammer Düsseldorf and Kreishandwerkerschaft Düsseldorf. International Women's Day 2025: HPP Architects at the Women in Architecture Festival On International Women's Day, we are delighted to announce our participation in the Women in Architecture Festival! 🎉 144 participants and 264 projects will be taking part nationwide. The festival strengthens the visibility of women in building culture nationwide and positions them as driving forces for diversity in public discourse in order to network with each other as well as with society, politics and the media and to utilise synergies. A specially founded initiative within our architecture firm has been working intensively on these very topics for some time. This applies both to the industry as a whole and to our office specifically. We are therefore delighted to be involved and to make our contribution to this great format! ✔ CONSTRUCTION PROCESS Shortly before completion, our HPP colleagues from Düsseldorf once again had the opportunity to visit the construction site of the new alltours headquarters on the Rhine promenade. Stephanie Dudek (Project Manager project supervision) and Daniel Duas (Project Manager planning) guided us through the new building. 🏗 Urban Transitions In addition to the alltours office and administrative headquarters, the building ensemble will also include apartments, flats suitable for the elderly and a care facility. 🏆 COMPETITION We are happy to announce that our design for a residential and office quarter was awarded first prize for the urban redensification of the site of the federal transportation service in Bonn!  🏗 Urban Transitions A four- to six-storey block shields the neighbourhood from noise from the adjacent main road and ensures a high quality of living and amenity. Inside the neighbourhood, three free-standing point buildings break up the development structure and create a central square. A particular highlight is the 6-storey solitary building at the eastern end of the avenue, which serves as an entrance to the neighbourhood and accommodates a wide range of multifunctional uses such as offices, co-working and a daycare centre. The open space concept integrates the scenic qualities of Bonn`s Rheinaue and preserves a large part of the existing tree population. With a high proportion of greenery and the creation of infiltration areas, the concept is based on the sponge city principle, which contributes to the ecological stability of the neighbourhood. 💚 We are delighted with the success of the competition and are looking forward to the further process of this identity-creating new neighbourhood in the Bundesviertel! 🏆 German Design Award 2025 Our LEON11 project was honoured as a Winner in the ‘Excellent Architecture’ category! The jury particularly praised the successful combination of resource conservation and urban quality of life. Together with our client Pamera Real Estate Partners GmbH, we received the award in Frankfurt last Friday. 🏗 Adaptive Reuse The award from the German Design Council emphasises projects that set international standards for innovative design. LEON11 contributes to Munich's sustainable urban development as a new eye-catcher by carefully renovating a former hotel from the 1980s and modernising it to the highest design standards. By 2025, 37 modern flats will be built near Rotkreuzplatz. By converting the building instead of demolishing it, we will save around 1.6 million kWh of CO2 emissions - equivalent to the annual residential energy consumption of 200 people. 💚 Stefan Erb, Partner and Head of the Munich office, and Rebekka Pottgüter, Head of Communications, received the award in Frankfurt on behalf of HPP together with our client Christoph Zapp! ✔ PROJECT MILESTONE The foundation stone for the new campus of Darüşşafaka Schools, a well-established educational institution with a history dating back to 1863, has been laid in Sarıyer, Istanbul. The campus has been designed with sustainability and ESG criteria in mind, integrating the regulations of Turkish institutions with German school standards. This project aims to establish new benchmarks for educational infrastructure in Turkey. ⚙️ BIM and international experience The use of BIM technologies enables precise and efficient planning and realisation of the project. This not only saves time and resources, but also optimises the entire construction process. Using state-of-the-art technologies and the experience of our team, we have been designing diverse learning landscapes of all sizes around the world for many years. 🏆 WA100 RANKING The British magazine BD has announced the results of the annual WA100 (World Architecture 100) and we are not only once again among the top 20 architecture firms worldwide, but we are particularly pleased that we have risen to second place among the TOP 10 in Western Europe! Our broad range of services, which covers a wide variety of project typologies and expertise, is reflected in the multiple presence of specialised TOP 10s - such as project management. In addition to FOUR Frankfurt, the large-scale revitalisation of the previously derelict Jinyu Xingfa Cement Factory in Beijing, where a new scientific campus is coming to life on 60 hectares, is named as a key project with international appeal from 2024. International competition successes in the past year also contribute to the top 20 ranking: For example, first prize for the Middenzaal Theater aan het Vrijthof Maastricht or first prize for the new cultural centre and commune office in Piaseczno, Poland.
