#SituationalAwareness in complex airspaces is essential. For operators overseeing Beyond Visual Line of Sight (#BVLOS) flights, understanding real-time risks directly impacts both safety and efficiency. HHLA Sky addresses this responsibility. Our Integrated Control Center, the ICC, unifies data streams, from drones, sensors, and external sources into one centralized platform, evaluates the data in context and visualizes it clearly: ✅ To enable better and faster decision making. From monitoring weather conditions to integrating various traffic data as well as ground sensors, the ICC provides unparalleled visibility. This level of #integration ensures operators can make well-informed, confident decisions at every stage—whether scheduling, launching or managing ongoing operations. We at HHLA Sky believe, the future of safe and confident #DroneOperations lies in seamless integration, situational awareness, and trusted technology. If you find this post valuable, please share it with your network.

🚀 What exactly is a SAIL III permit? 💡 Whenever we talk about the possibility of drone logistics, this term comes up again and again: SAIL III. But what is it actually and why is it so important?❓ First of all: SAIL III is a permit class for the operation of drones. In other words, it is not about certifying a terminal device, but rather the planned flight operations and the organization behind them are examined as a whole and approved for implementation. SAIL III is one of several categories of the SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment), which determines the risk of the planned operation and defines requirements. Of course, this also includes the appropriate hardware with corresponding precautions for emergencies, but also a precisely regulated process flow and, of course, appropriately trained personnel. If all this is in place, a delivery operation by drone, for example, can be approved, which can then not only be highly automated and take place out of sight of pilots, but can also fly over residential and industrial areas. Incidentally, we are one of the first authorities in Germany to have successfully completed this process together with partners. And, of course, we are now making the expert knowledge we have gained available to our customers. We go through the entire process with them - from the initial idea through the entire approval process to the successful take-off. 🚀 #ThirdElementAviation #3EA #TheFutureIsAirborne #Drone #UAV #UAS #Innovation #Logistics

Day three of the camera integration tests in Odense, Denmark for HiCONNECTS project "Task 4.2 - wildfire scenario" was a success. We conducted 6 test flights where we collected thousands of pictures. Video shows one of the testflights start to end (10 speed). The special made dual camera head (RGB and spectral camera) from Qtechnology A/S was flown to the same 12 predefined waypoints at every mission. Spectral camera filters and exposure settings were changed between flights for figuring out optimal setup. The waypoints were defined that way that we have different vegetation in view, unpaved road, creek, open field as well as a pond and people/car (ourselves). At the end the project goal is to be able to predict wildfire expansion/movement also based on moisture level of vegetation/forrest. Drone used is a custom Third Element Aviation GmbH Auriol NXP drone with NXP electronics inside and Drone Rescue Systems GmbH DRS-25 parachute system and a Gremsy T7 gimbal for keeping the camera stabilized at 45° downwards facing during flight. Camera is using NXP Semiconductors i.MX8M-plus (NavQplus) for image processing. NXP components used inside drone: #NavQplus (i.MX8Mplus) companion computer #T1ETH8 (SJA1110) T1 ethernet switch #CANHUBK3 (S32K344 MCU) CAN Hub #Consider-IT OBU (i.MX8 MCU & SAF5400 DSRC radio) communication modem #FETtec ESC60Apro (S32K146 MCU) ..and a lot of our CAN transceivers Ground station is equipped with jetvision AirSquitter and GroundControl workplace to monitor Drone and Airspace during operation. Thank you to Marianna Smidth Buschle, Mathias Dal Møller, Alexandre Desnoyers and Ulrich Linnet for all the hard work making this three days a success! #WeAreNXP Video in normal speed is available as https://lnkd.in/exfa5WvK
