A statement from our Co-Founders: Building both a life and a company together isn’t always easy, but for us, it was the absolute right decision. However, when family and business are intertwined, unexpected events can have an immense impact on all aspects of your life. In October of last year, just four months after the birth of our first child, David caught Covid-19. While we hoped that once he tested negative all would be well, David was left with Long Covid and has been focusing on his recovery ever since. Now, one year later, it is clear that returning to work in the near future won’t be possible. Therefore, David is officially stepping away from Perihelion to prioritize his health. For a small company, this is a big change, and such change requires careful navigation. We have decided to close the office for the remainder of 2024 to take time to recharge and thoughtfully shape the future of Perihelion. We are confident that this pause will allow us to come back stronger and more focused. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our project partners for their support and to our clients for their continued trust in us. This is not a mission abort, but a mission redesign —and we’re excited for the opportunities that await us in our next launch window. Thank you, Judith Delany & David Delany

Effective internal communication is crucial for success in the European space industry, whether you're a startup, SME, or a larger enterprise. It ensures that complex, cross-disciplinary teams are aligned with mission goals, fosters transparency, and strengthens collaboration across diverse partners and stakeholders. For startups and SMEs, where resources are often limited, a robust communication strategy is essential to keep everyone on the same trajectory, minimizing errors and boosting productivity. It’s not just about sharing information; it’s about enabling your team to innovate and excel in a rapidly advancing sector. The key to success is a good internal communication strategy, that, if done right, will carry your message outside of your team and will help to strengthen brand recognition and increasing turnover. Once in place, these three things can help to bring you success with your internal communication: 🚀 Leverage Technology Use the right tools to streamline communication across different teams and locations. Platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, or dedicated project management software can keep everyone connected and informed. 🚀 Encourage Open Dialogue Create a culture where employees feel comfortable sharing ideas, feedback, and concerns. Regular check-ins and open forums can help facilitate this. 🚀 Define Clear Communication Channels Establish who communicates what to whom, and through which channels. This clarity prevents information overload and ensures messages reach the right people. Not sure where to start? Or stuck and in need of a neutral third party to help you get your company back on track? We are here to help! Write us a message to schedule your free kick-off consultation! What a whirlwind of a (bit over) a month it has been! The last couple of weeks seem to have flown by, and I'm simply thrilled that they were all about #space and #genderequality and #diversity in space! ✨ The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) hosted our WIA-Europe Austria Regional Network monthly Brunch at their premises. Our special guest was H.E. Debora Lepre, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), who shared more about her inspiring career and gave valuable advise to all of our members. Thank you for hosting us and thank you for all your work for our regional network, Sara Dalledonne! ✨ It was so good to be back at #UNOOSA for the Legal Subcommittee Session, and especially to see Michelle L.D. Hanlon of For All Moonkind, Inc. again! This incredible non-profit will always have a special place in my heart and always have my support, as it is where my career in the space sector really started. It is also the best example of all the incredible things that can happen when women support women in their careers. Thank you, Michelle! ✨ We also had a wonderful networking brunch between WIA-Europe Austria Regional Network and the European Chapter of the Society of Flight Test Engineers during their inaugural SFTE Symposium here in Vienna. It was an incredible opportunity to bring women from two very male dominated field together, and left me, and I think I can say all of us, inspired and motivated to bring about change in our industries. Thank you for organising, Raluca Karassi and Marianne Roechling! ✨ Last week was full of incredible events, kicked off by the "Promoting Diversity for Space Workforce Sustainability", hosted by the ever inspiring Vera Pinto Gomes. All the speakers provided such valuable insight! Dwight vom Hofe, Eileen Ehrhardt and Cécile Deprez really highlighted the significance of diversity as really the ONLY way for a sustainable and innovative growth of the space sector, and left me with new perspectives, feeling educated and motivated. Thank you all for a fantastic event! ✨ "Promoting Diversity and Space Workforce Sustainability" really set the stage for me for the Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-Europe) 2024 Symposium! While I couldn't attend all of the events, I do want to highlight the really fascinating discussion about "Overcoming the Imposter Phenomenon", that took a scientific and quantifiable approach to the topic. Thank you and Congratulations for organising this brilliant symposium, Xenia Pattberg! ✨ Lastly, our WIA-Europe Austria Regional Network got invited to get a look into the Beyond Gravity HQ here in Vienna last Friday! We gained a valuable insight into the history of Austrias largest space company and got the chance to visit the production sites and cleanrooms, as well as network over lunch. Thank you for the excellent tour, Janine Schwestka! Only thing left to say now: ONWARDS! #wiaeurope #womeninspace #diversity4space #space4women

Space Actually - A Christmas Story! Part of my keynote speech "The importance of factual science communication in the realm of space data and technology" for the #WorldSpaceForum2023 was a little Christmas story. I am delighted that I got so much positive feedback about this, and that I got asked to share it once more. So I took the time to elaborate a little bit, to make the story a little longer - and to add, you must admit, top notch, state of the art, outstanding photoshop efforts, fit for an Oscar for best special effects! So here it goes. And to (sort of) quote the incredible, outstanding Billy Mack: I feel it in my fingers I feel it in my toes Space is all around me And so the feeling grows! Happy holidays everybody! 🎄 #techtransfer #space #earthobservation #christmas #spacecomms #outreach #wsf2023

Our CEO Judith Delany held the opening keynote "The importance of factual science communication in the realm of space data and technology" at the World Space Forum 2023 this week.
It’s great to be back at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) for the World Space Forum 2023! Yesterday I had the absolute honour to give an opening keynote speech on “The significance of factual science communication in the realm of space data and technology”. It is rare to see the importance of science and space communication take center stage at such a high level, interdisciplinary forum, and I am glad the topic is finally getting the attention it deserves. A big thank you to Markus Woltran and Andrea Kleinsasser for the excellent organisation and invitation to hold this keynote. Shoutout and thank you to Sabine Pongruber for capturing the moment! #wsf2023 #sciencecommunication #space #unoosa #spacecomms
