💊 Life Sciences Bulletin: Parallel import of medicines into Ukraine as of 2025   Starting on 1 January 2025, the parallel import of medicines into Ukraine will come into force, allowing dealers that are authorised by manufacturers of medicinal products to import medicines in parallel with said manufacturers.   The expected outcome? Higher competition and lower prices for relevant medicines.   This change is subject to a number of limitations, including the following:   a. Medicines eligible for parallel import 📦   an imported medicinal product that is identical or similar to the medicinal product registered in Ukraine; or imported medicinal products that are simultaneously reference medicinal products or generic medicinal products, both in Ukraine and in the exporting country.   b. Exporting countries 🌍   Parallel import is allowed only from EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The list of exporting countries may be expanded in the future.   c. Prohibition of pharmacy sales ❌   The Law expressly prohibits the sale of medicines imported by a way of parallel import in pharmacies. Such medicines can be distributed only via hospital sales channels.   There are several administrative steps importers must take such as ensuring regulatory approvals are met.   Additionally, the relevant authorities must approve the procedure for the maintaining of the State Register of Parallel-Imported Medicinal Products and implement the software for the registration of said products (until then, information on this type of medicinal products shall be maintained electronically).   For the full Bulletin by Olga Ivlyeva, click here: https://wt.legal/Qg6s   #WolfTheiss #WolfTheissLifeSciences #LifeSciences #PharmaIndustry #Pharma #MedicineInUkraine #MedicineImport

Ukraine remains the centre of global attention as the war continues to impact the nation's infrastructure, economy, environment and the lives of its people. Logistics is a cornerstone of our economy, but it's facing significant challenges. From decarbonisation to regionalisation, the industry is undergoing a rapid transformation. Our Real Estate expert Elisabeth Pötscher gives an overview of the current status of the logistics market in Austria and its future: "The logistics market faces challenges that must be mastered in the coming years. These challenges include reducing CO2 emissions and decarbonising freight transport, as well as strengthening regionalism. The industry is undergoing a transformation in which technology, ecology and the use of AI play a central role. Changes are also taking place in site development for logistics centers. In the interest of reducing soil sealing and promoting biodiversity, reinforced by increasingly restrictive spatial planning laws and the Taxonomy Ordinance, the revitalisation and (re)development of existing sites (brownfield projects) will increasingly become the focus of the transaction landscape in the future." Wolf Theiss has long been a reliable partner for national and international logistics companies and investors. We advise our clients on the purchase and sale, realisation and financing of numerous logistics projects in the CEE region. Our many years of experience in logistics projects gives us a competitive edge as we understand the key aspects and know what it takes to successfully realise such projects. Together with CERTAINITY and GrECo Group, we recently hosted a practical workshop simulating a realistic cyberattack on a critical infrastructure provider. Via this hands-on approach, we walked our guests through the organisational, technical and legal challenges when facing a cyberattack. While there is no "one size fits all" solution to minimise the impact of a cyberattack, a thorough preparation will help increase the chances to navigate through rough waters, our speakers concluded. Pentests for sparring with the IT department and realistic trainings for employees are key to succeed, while cyber insurances may help mitigate damage. Many thanks to our speakers from CERTAINITY (Ulrich Fleck, Mag. Dzevad Mujezinovic, CIPP/E, CISM and Florian Walther) and GrECo Group (Mihajlo Milanovic, Andreas Schmitt) for the engaging session and a big thank you to our attendees for the interactive event! We look forward to hosting you again.
