With 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions associated with every tonne of activated carbon produced, Bygen’s 'low-temperature activation' technology is revolutionary by using renewable energy AND reducing production costs. Recently, they closed a $2.6m founding round from investors like Breakthrough Victoria, Investible, Alberts , Artesian (Alternative Investments) and Startmate. What do Lithium and soda water have in common? Well Novalith's technology uses soda water (well, technically, carbonic acid) to extract lithium out of the ground! Steven V. explains how it all works in the clip below. This allows them to extract lithium and sequester carbon at a lower cost than traditional methods. With 3.76 million solar PV installations in Australia, will we have a waste problem ahead of us? Luckily Elecsome Pty Ltd. have found an efficient alternative to the traditional solar panel recycling process. According to co-founder Neeraj Das their process does not create any residual waste, meaning that everything produced from their process can be used again. The technology is so promising that only recently AGL announced an MOU to develop a feasibility study with Elecsome at the site of coal fired power station Bayswater. A gathering of Australia's brightest companies and most critical investors in accelerating the climate transition. Highlights of the day included: ✅ An inspiring speech from our 27th PM Julia Gillard with the key message: don't forget the tangible power of connecting climate action to the more immediate health outcomes. ✅ Incredible news of traction and product developments from our guest stable of GOTERRA, SunDrive, Sicona Battery Technologies, Great Wrap, Novalith, All G Foods, Emmi, Uluu, Savic Motorcycles and Samsara Eco that were all in action at the forum. ✅ An evolving and ongoing tension between the supply of innovative technologies that can change the world and the demand for "boring" aka predictable returns for especially later stage investors. ✅ The question on absolutely everyone's lips: "When is Season 5 of APC?".
