Today is the anniversary of when Uluru was returned to its traditional owners. ⁠ ⁠ Today marks the day when the Hawke government handed back the title deeds for the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to the Anangu people in October 1985, it ended decades of determined lobbying by the traditional owners to have their rights recognised. The handover of Uluṟu and Kata Tjuṯa in 1985 was a symbolic highpoint for land rights. On 26 October, hundreds of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people attended the ceremony when Governor General Sir Ninian Stephen handed over the title deeds to Anangu traditional owners. ⁠ ⁠ Each year we celebrate the joint management of Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park since 1985. We celebrate keeping land and culture strong.

accessIQ's been all systems go, these past few months. We've been deep in learning design and digital development, working on getting new content into a spot where it's engaging, dynamic and accessible for our learners. We recently wrapped up a huge project with our friends at AdventureWorks WA, translating their Into Adulthood program into an interactive online learning experience for their cohort of young learners (12-17 year olds). They will be trialling this social and emotional learning program in schools across WA, in 2025. The next big project we have been working on is the Healthy Weight Program, in partnership with WA Primary Health Alliance - WAPHA. This program will support health professionals in having conversations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients around healthy weight. This has been a significant piece of work in collaboration with the education and design team at Benchmarque Group.
