Improving Lives!

About us

We are Activ, and we improve lives. As a registered NDIS provider, we are privileged to support more than 1,900 Western Australian individuals and their families. In 1951 a group of families who believed their children living with intellectual disabilities deserved better, came together in support of each other. This fundamental belief in people is what still drives us today. Our vision is that people of all abilities have the same opportunities to achieve independence. On Saturday, the Activ Foundation took part in Zenith's Central Park Plunge! 21 brave plungers, including genU’s CEO, clare amies, scaled 33 floors (130 meters) down the Central Park building in Perth’s CBD, all while raising vital funds for West Aussies living with disability! It was a fantastic day full of sunshine, some nerves, and lots of cheering, and we are so proud of every person who took the plunge for Activ! A big thank you to everyone who got involved, whether that was plunging, volunteering or donating. So far we have raised just shy of $22,000, with donations still open for over a week. So if you still want to play your part, you can still make a donation here: https://bit.ly/46tKKBB

Last week we officially launched our Reconciliation Action Plan, which is in its first 'Reflect' phase. Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, our Reflect RAP embodies our dedication to achieving reconciliation and inclusivity for all members of our community. As part of our launch we held a series of events across the state, attended by our team members and customers, which were a celebration of cultural heritage and our commitment to reconciliation. Our community hubs shared the purpose and meaning behind our RAP, by learning more about Australia's First Peoples cultures and connecting with local First Nations businesses through activities such as baking damper and other sweet treats, planting seedlings, enjoying traditional performances by local First Nations dancers, art activities and so much more! Thank you so much to all of our amazing staff and customers who got involved and welcomed this first step in our organisation's reconciliation journey. We look forward to sharing our progress.

Can you believe the Chevron City to Surf for Activ was already two months ago? While the event was a big milestone for Activ as it celebrated the event’s 50th anniversary, it was also a big day of celebrations for one of our customers, Michelle, who celebrated her 50th birthday on the same day – how special is that! We are already getting pumped to celebrate 51 years of our iconic event, and of course, 51 years of Michelle! Registrations are already open: https://bit.ly/3P84OU4

We’re thrilled to introduce some of the remarkable people driving social impact at genU.
