With only 10 days to go to Adelaide Connected 8.0, we would like to welcome the Australian Computer Society (ACS) as a bronze sponsor for this year's event. ACS is one of the professional associations who jointly organise Adelaide Connected. The upcoming event, sold out with 360 attendees, will be our largest edition ever! With more than 50,000 members nationally across business, government and education, the ACS is the largest community for Australia’s technology professionals. As the trusted leader in the tech sector, ACS works to accelerate the growth of diverse and highly skilled technology professionals, equipping them with the right skills and knowledge to power Australia. Now and in the future. ACS delivers value for its members, businesses and society in four ways: 1️⃣ Community: We foster an innovative and inclusive community that is dedicated to powering positive change through technology. 2️⃣ Career: We create career pathways to guide technology professionals and ensure Australia has a pipeline of talent with the right skills and knowledge. 3️⃣ Capability: We set the standard for assessing, developing and recognising the skills and experience of technology professionals. 4️⃣ Migration: We assess and support skilled technology migrants to address critical skills shortages, improve diversity and enrich Australia’s workforce.

Our first Mid year event, hosted together with "DutchSA - Australian Netherlands Chamber of Commerce was a successful endeavour! Great to see many representatives of our sponsors and member organisations in the audience. A great evening of networking and deep thinking about where Australia should be heading to harness the AI revolution rather than be swept by it. If you like more of these sessions then drop us your idea for a hot topic at adelaideconnected at gmail dot com! #adelaideconnected
Last night’s Future of AI event from Adelaide Connected and DutchSA - Australian Netherlands Chamber of Commerce was very insightful and gave us lots of food for thought about the transformational opportunities of machine learning and generative AI for disruptive business models, and transforming our economy and workforce. If we don’t invest in our future we will have to buy one. We enjoyed the many personal connections made and refreshed on the night, and are very pleased with the wonderful feedback: “I just wanted to say thank you so much for this evening’s event. It was one of the most interesting, intelligent and insightful networking events I had been to in a long time and really glad I went.” Thank you to our volunteers that organised the event, especially Vasco Bontje MBA, Lilian Mellink and Edwin Roman, our host venue Torrens University Australia, drink sponsors Denham D'Silva and Deep Liquid, and Petria Byrne and Byrne Vineyards for supporting the event. Special thanks for our amazing keynote speakers: Anton van den Hengel, Johan Verjans and Michelle Picard.
