  • Australia’s honey bee industry contributes over $14 billion annually to agriculture however the incursion of Varroa destructor and other exotic honey bee mites pose a significant threat to the industry and the essential pollination services they provide. As we transition from eradication to the management of Varroa mite, advanced detection and monitoring technologies will be key. 🐝 Our friends at Hort Innovation, CSIRO, and Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade are seeking advanced solutions for detecting and monitoring mites (varroa, tracheal, and tropilaelaps). This will be part of a comprehensive evaluation of technologies via field testing in Australia. Do you have a solution that they mite be looking for?
