🥘🍲🥙 Your guide to plant based snacks The Grains & Legumes Nutrition Council (GLNC) conducted an extensive audit of plant-based snacks in 2024. It analysed nearly 700 products from supermarkets in NSW and categorised snacks into several types, including bars, bliss balls, snack bites, crackers, crisps, roasted legumes, falafels, fritters and dips. Chickpeas were the most prevalent legume ingredient among the 18 different legume ingredients used in these snacks. They featured in 19% of all snacks, closely followed by green peas and lentils. While chickpeas are the most common ingredient nationally, almonds lead globally in plant-based snacks. Read more: https://bit.ly/3Fq2sNR #GroundCoverOnline #Chickpeas #GoChickpea! #PlantBasedSnacks

⚠️ DISEASE ADVICE - potential for fungicide resistance detected in Esperance wheat powdery mildew Wheat powdery mildew samples collected in Esperance WA have shown a potential resistance to Group 3 (DMI) fungicides. Careful management can help you avoid resistance developing in your crops. Key info: 🌱 The mutation is not currently linked to any observed reduction in fungicide performance, but growers should monitor crop performance and manage fungicide use carefully. 🌱 This detection follows Group 3 and Group 11 resistance trends in the Eastern states. 🌱 Use the ‘Fungicide Resistance 5’ (FR5) to minimise disease pressure and the risk of favouring DMI-resistance mutations in the pathogen population. 🌱 Only use Group 3 fungicides in mixture and rotation with other fungicide groups.
