The Defence and Industry Study Course (DISC) has been in operation since 1953 with the aim of promoting enhanced engagement and understanding between Defence and Industry in order to improve Australia's Defence Industry Capability and ultimately, Australia's national security. Over the years, DISC has supported Legacy Australia as its charity partner through fundraising efforts throughout the course. One of the main fundraising measures undertaken is the annual DISC Gala Dinner and Auction. This year, the DISC Gala Dinner and Auction will be held in Canberra at the Mercure Hotel on Thursday 5 December 2024. The dinner will bring together people from Defence and Defence Industry to raise much needed funds for Legacy Australia. The magnificent Sydney harbour served as the perfect back drop to the networking event that we hosted in partnership with Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN National) NSW last week. Guests were treated to a delicious food and beverages at The Theatre Bar At The End of the Wharf, as we listened to our Australian Managing Director Terri Benson share the story of Birdon’s growth from a business founded in regional New South Wales to an international success. We even managed to do some #Birdonferry spotting as we saw many of the vessels that we have worked on cruise by. Thank you so much to the team at AIDN for partnering with us to host this event.
